2013 v6 GC 3.6L Acceleration LAG!!/Throttle Lag!!

hi... I a got 4WD Laredo X w/3.6 cylinder V6 engine. I've been experiencing a serious lag in the Acceleration/throttle response. From a stop, and when iam driving with normal speeds (30-45 km/h).. when its from a stop I press the accelerator pedal and the engine revs but nothing happens for a second or a bit more . So I press it a bit further, and then all of a sudden,(after the delay 1-2 sec) the engine starts going and the vehicle takes off good. It's like I have to wait for the laggy response to get the car moving ... its a really annoying LAG ..

How can i fix this Acceleration LAG ?? pls ??

and a bit less lag when its on sport mode but still its there and very noticeable

i rly hope i can get a fix...

every thing is stock in the car ... imight just put new sparkplugs and get a new Fuel Pump And check teh car for updates soon but i dont think its have a thing to do with it....

help pls

.. thank u

If the engine revs up and the car doesn't move for a little I'm sorry to say but sounds like your transmission has seen better days. There should be no lag and the vehicle should start moving as soon as you press the pedal, and it certainly shouldn't rev a couple seconds before it starts moving.

Sad to say, but I agree. Mind you, this is a pretty unscientific diagnosis, but it sounds like your torque converter is not locking up properly. If you are out of warranty, I would find a good reputable transmission shop and have them take a look. All of the good ones I have been to will do a test drive diagnosis for free. That should help narrow down if this is the issue.

I tend to agree here too. The lag I had that was resolved by the addition of the Sprint Booster was a lag in time between pressing the accelerator pedal and the engine responding. Revving up before moving sounds like the transmission rather than the typical drive by wire hesitation.

FIrst thing you need to do is turn off the hill holder it comes "ON" as default delivery.

Make sure that it is switched off and you are not driving in hilly areas then if you still have the lag take it in and see if they can reflash the TCM and see if it goes away.

Did you get anywhere with this? I believe it is what my dealer service rep would describe as, "Operating as designed."

Or get a Diablo tuner and adjust throttle response there and get a tune for the jeep. Works nicely. Check your tranny first though

Re: 2013 v6 GC 3.6L Acceleration LAG!!/Throttle Lag!!

Older thread, but it sounds like the transmission valve body. Had to replace one on my daughters jetta that was doing the same thing.

Shop wanted a ton to rebuild the tranny, couple hundred for a built valve body and did the work myself for a couple hundred.
