2014 Altitude intake

Can some of you that have an intake in your 2014 give me some input. I am picking up my 2014 Altitude this weekend and I want to order a cold air intake for it sooner than later, thanks in advance

Re: 2014 Altitude intake

^ Yep...

All depends on how much you want to spend. They all give you about a 10 hp / 12 ft.lb increase, and possibly a slight increase in mpg.

I personally went with the least expensive & easiest to install CAI...the Airaid CAI for the 2011+ Grand Cherokee, which fits both the 3.6L and the 5.7L Hemi.

Installed an Airaid Cold Air Intake

Re: 2014 Altitude intake

My K&N is working great no issues and great quality. Other members have enjoyed their Mopar cai's which appear to be very similar to the K&N. The Volant looks like a great package but some have complained of fitment issues.

On this page there are numerous write up of all the CAI's available for the V6 and V8's. Check them out and your question will be answered. Not sure what engine you have as that could affect someone's recommendation.

Re: 2014 Altitude intake

Altitude is v6, did you have to cut anything for the KN to fit. That's the real concern I have

Re: 2014 Altitude intake

I have a V8. Perfect fit.

V6 has a long intake tube that snakes around the engine as the throttle body is towards the left rear of the engine. Couple guys on here have installed it and have pictures.

Re: 2014 Altitude intake

I went with the AFE power Intake for my 2014 Altitude and I love the new throttle sound it gives off

Re: 2014 Altitude intake

ok so would you say that the drop in filter is a complete waste ?

Im trying to avoid loosing mpg really.
Typicially i remove cai's from previous cars before getting it serviced to avoid warranty drama

Re: 2014 Altitude intake

Id say the gains are minimal if any at all in both mpg and hp.
If anything intakes on these Jeeps are more so for sound and engine dress up.
