2014 GC Summit Exhaust Question

I am hoping someone can help me. I have been trolling around this forum for a while and am amazed by all the valuable info. I have 2 Summits that I want to put high end exhaust on and it seems that Cosa and Borla do not offer it yet. I am pretty sure Flowmaster does offer it with the quad tips but I think it sounds a little tinny and I think they use 400 series stainless.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance.

I ran a Borla for 12 years on an older GC, and it was quite nice.
If I had to do it over again, I'd probably go Banks.
They don't show fitment yet, but every time I've talked to them, their folks are extremely helpful in noting if another model would work or if they have something [if you'll forgive the expression] in the pipeline.

I have the flowmaster summit kit on my 14 overland I think it sounds bad ass....it's the 50 series on the exhaust...great rumble nice look (I cut off quad tips since those will only fit summit) and put in different tips.

Re: 2014 GC Sumit Exhaust Question

Thanks for the input.

I blew through 2 magnaflow mufflers in 4 years on my 2500 so I am hesitant to go that route.

Will a kit that fits an overland work on my Summits? I am thinking that if i buy a kit with single round tips I will have to cut them off and put on quad tips to fit the bumper cut out.

I learned that the center box output on summit kit is about an in to outside on both sides... The overland kit would be in a little more... In terms of being centered in cutout.

How do u like ur flowmaster? I have a 2014 summit 5.7 but was a little concerned with the flowmaster video of it. Sounded like it had a weird noise when gears were shifting?

I have the flowmaster on my overland... The only time I hear that is under heavy load and on sport mode... Normal to driving not at all... Have been told multiple times it sounds insane!

How does a muffler go bad? besides rusting through.

You have the SRT so i would go corsa or custom, i dont like the flowmasters.

All of the seams rusted and blew out. I will never buy 400 stainless again. Since the original post I traded in my Summit for the SRT. I just ordered a Borla system for the SRT. As far as I can tell flowmaster is the only one who offers a system for it and it is 400 grade. I have been in contact with Borla several times and they keep telling me to wait a couple of weeks. That was 2 months ago.

Re: 2014 GC Summit Exhaust Question

theres 2 borlas for the SRT...atak and S....the atak is the more aggressive. Both of those are axle back exhausts(installed in front of the flappers). theres also magnaflow, corsa, american racing, kooks and GThaus. I have the Borla aak at the moment an dlove it. I may end up going with the kooks or GThause full catbacks
