Like I said earlier, of all the dyno results I've seen posted from just a CAI install, it seems ALL get you on average about an 10 hp / 12 ft. lb increase. The Airaid it seems is your least expensive CAI option...which also happens to be the easiest to install (opposed to CAIs that come with an intake tube). The Airaid even uses the stock air intake as well.

Isnt there a resonator on the airbox on these vehicles? For people that want the sound, all they have to do is remove the resonator, right? Then they save money too.

Now, concerning the increase in HP/TQ, is it throughout the entire band or just top end? I'm pretty sure I've read where you lose some on the bottom end. I would hate to do that, considering our vehicles weigh over 5000+ pounds and if we do any towing at all.

No. Youd lose bottem end from opening up the exhuast more. The intake improves mid and top end power but the bottom is like stock. Maybe slightly stronger.

Yup they have em.

Just removing the resonator from the air box does not give any increase in power, so I don't really know what you're commenting on here.

To clarify...if I personally were to purchase an aftermarket CAI, I would buy the Airaid and it would be ONLY for the power increase & any gas mileage improvement I may get (if I can keep my foot off the gas ).

I could care less for the increase in sound with the CAI...if anything I'd prefer no sound increase at all.

Re: 2014 JGC 3.6 v6 CAI

I have the airraid on my 2011 and really like it. Install was super easy, should have minimal heat soak since it uses stock tube, and no annoying drone. I did stomp on it next to a buddy and he said it sounded loud but I don't really had it driving. With that and a tuner I get 23-24 mpg on highway abd towing the boat is noticeably easier than with my wife's stock Durango

Intakes dont drone. Thats exhaust systems. I have changed my entire intake, tb, and modified my intake manifold...No drone.

How do you like your tuner? I have the hypertec (I know, different engine) but im curious as to how they compare.
