2014 JGC 3.6 v6 CAI

I have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 3.6 v6 and I want to add a cold air intake, need help on deciding which brand to go with. I'm stuck between an AFE Power intake or the Mopar intake but does anyone have the actual specs on the mopar CAI

I have the Mopar CAI and I am really happy with it.. I cannot find any actual DYNO specs from testing on this.. All I can find is that in it's description it increases airflow by 20% Torque 10 lbs and almost 10 HP.. Seems like the aftermarket companies do a ton of testing on all their stuff before selling it.. I wonder if we could get the Mopar testing info from someone

I personally would go with the aFe "Dry Filter" CAI (part #51-12122) since it's less expensive than the MOPAR CAI, and you don't have to cut/modify your plastic engine cover.

Amazon is selling the the aFe CAI for a discounted price of $241.82 until April 11th.

IMO cold air intakes on an un-modified engine is a waste of money, but it sounds like you'll be re-mapping soon.

Removing about a inch of plastic from the passenger side of the cover.. Just use a utility knife and cut from the inside.

I would say get a k&n model 77 i think. i have it on my 14 limited v6, a nice deep sound. attatched here is a picture of the intake and a short clip of it in action. Mind you the engine was in eco mode during the clip.

I actually might be swayed to get some sort of CAI for my new Overland afterall. Seems they all give you about an 10 HP / 12 lb.ft. increase according to the dyno results.

After researching several CAIs, I'm liking the Airaid 311-212 Intake with the dry SynthaMax air filter...about $207 from multiple vendors...all with free shipping. What I like about the Airaid is it uses the stock plastic intake tube...which is better for keeping your low rpm torque, doesn't conduct heat like the aftermarket metal tubes, it's really easy to install, and it doesn't have the annoying sucking/whistling sounds emited by the other aftermarkets.

Ah...but just think of the power increase you'll get buy turning off "ECO" AND installing a CAI...



Like I said earlier, of all the dyno results I've seen posted from just a CAI install, it seems ALL get you on average about an 10 hp / 12 ft. lb increase. The Airaid it seems is your least expensive CAI option...which also happens to be the easiest to install (opposed to CAIs that come with an intake tube). The Airaid even uses the stock air intake as well.
