BAM!!! We did the initial measurements and it appeared to fit...and sure enough like a glove!! NO modifications needed (from muffler back; flanges were used). What you have here is a 2014 OEM SRT exhaust (resonators deleted; otherwise stock-spec) installed on a 4x4 2014 Limited 3.6L v6...fitment is amazing. No clearance issues, tips stick out less than 1" from lower fascia (adjustable about 1/2" almost all the way around). That provides enough clearance and give a great look from different angles. Getting rid of those stock v6 tips 2014-pre is worth the whole swap alone. Why even put "chrome" tips on there when they are recessed and so minimal? Makes no sense...but I digress

As for the sound...WOW...for HIS needs!! He has kids (2 under three years old) and they take family trips in the Jeep. Jeep is under warranty and purchased new. The start-up is nice with a throaty undertone, subtle; before you could not hear anything but the aFe intake sucking air, at start-up or under throttle. Now there is a pure engine noise coming out the rear to match the nice intake sound! He is very happy and it passed the family test, so all good on the home-front. What I really like about it is the exhaust is not trying to be more than it is...it's a v6, it could use a little more in, and now out, flow out...but unless you are getting crazy with a turbo or S/C, I see no reason not to do this mod. All the SRT guys upgrade their exhausts, so they should be easy to source. Trust me for 500 horsepower the stock exhaust is not enough :slapfight:. That is why he now has is!! Just so happens to be, in this scenario, a perfect match to the v6!

What you have here is a VERY easy way to open up your v6 with some SRT guys OEM exhaust. I upgraded to the Corsa and kept this in case...but after mocking it up I am glad I kept it as the mounting locations, tips and pipes fit perfectly on his ride.

Will post up some videos once I have uploaded them...for now here is the OEM SRT exhaust w/ reso-delete and a couple final install pics.

Shout with any questions or thoughts...

Will do...should have some more pics as well

is it just me or do the tips really not look right in that valance?
The pics are not the best...when driving the tips almost look non-existent. He was going to "play" with them to see what angle looks best. Will post more pics when I get them...

So there really is a difference in sound? I kind of assumed all the resonators and suitcases were from the same Chrysler parts bins and the sound differences came from the engine itself. I could be wrong obviously, but thats kinda what I thought.
Idk if the suitcases are the same (seem that way) but the tubing on the OEM SRT is 2.5-2.75"; the stock 3.6l was 2'-2.25", and with the resonator delete, there was a great change to the exhaust note.

Looks weird as it looks like they are touching the valance. And maybe look better if it was a painted lower valance?
They do appear that way, again bad pics. They are not touching the lower valance, but do stick out as I mentioned in my 1st post. He is going to mess with tips to see if they can "sit" in a better fashion...BUT compared to the stock tips (pics below; 2 are lacking a lot of mods on both Jeeps), it is a HUGE upgrade. And for painting, he started with a Limited trim, so he added the Laredo front lower valance, Laredo rear step pad, gloss black Jeep rear emblem, gloss black grille rings and lower tails, SRT honeycomb and black fog surrounds...kept the fender flares black plastic trim, so the whole lower portion of the Jeep is the same. He has a Limited Laredo going haha...next up are new wheels!

Definitely different part numbers for the cats, mufflers, and resonators between the SRT and the 5.7. You can check V6 part numbers online yourself. Parts guy at the dealership told me different part numbers means they have different designs. I hope it isn't just the size of the tubing that is attached. 5.7 suitcase back is supposed to be 2.25", SRT is supposed to be 2.75" but that alone should not account for that much sound difference.

I do not have the OEM anymore and he did not keep the stock 3.6L exhaust, but based on all the angles I looked at and measurements made, the SRT suitcase was the same "size" as the 3.6L, but have no idea on the internals. And yes, I confirmed it went from 2.25" to 2.75" on the SRT OEM piping. Deleted the resos too...was surprised it fit right up.

Yeah that doesn't look good at all and I can't imagine there being a performance benefit.
To each their own...good to know you don't like it. He is letting more air in (aFe intake) and now more flow out...so if no added power, since you can't imagine it, then the increased sound and throttle response will have to do. Keep in mind not everyone can have a perfect build like you.

Buddy came back into town so I finally got a video...although he did not do a good job of a "fly-by", but you can hear the exhaust...which you could not before. AT ALL!!

Drove his 3.6 after my SRT yesterday and was impressed by a couple things:

1. Day in, day out, 3.6 is plenty of power and a better daily driver...and when I say "better" I mean more economical and practical (IMO). I drive my SRT daily and would not have it any other way, BUT I have no kids and report to no one! My dog hasn't minded my mods yet.

2. The throttle response, sound and overall feel of his 3.6 now compared to when he bought it is night and day. It has more pep early on, you can hear an exhaust note BUT it does not sound like it is trying too hard. I hate exhausts that try to make something out of very little. Again, personal preference. He has kids, I do not want a Borla ATAK or GTHaus that screams all the time. VERY happy with my Corsa. Bought it off a JG member that did not like how quiet it was

3. The stock 3.6L dual chrome soda-can tips look like crap. The SRT black tips are awesome (the only thing I miss from the OEM over my Corsa exhaust), in my opinion, as we already know others. Now the tips are not sucked under the lower valance, chrome and small...now black chrome, oval and big! Couple more pics so others can point out how bad it looks; off center; not added to the right trim, etc. :D

This is a great addition for 3.6L owners that want to take advantage of SRT guys that change their exhausts and want a clean, OEM exhaust that wakes the engine up nicely. Total labor on the install was $150 FWIW

Did you just change the tips or do a cat-back? I like those tips and how they sit in the valance. Why chrome and not black tips? And is that an Overland badge on the rear passenger side lift gate?

The design on the OEM SRT exhaust and 3.6L are the same, just different size tubing and resonators (and different internals on the suitcases/resos based on what I have read). With the larger exhaust tubing, there is more air flowing out after the suitcase. With his aFe intake he is now letting the increased air volume out more effectively. There is a good amount of power in the v6, and this sure seemed to help...

I want to make clear that I have no clue on the power increase. BUT I can attest to the increased positive exhaust note (there was none existent prior/OEM 3.6L did not have any note). The v6 is muted, and I am impressed with the sound. And let's face it, for his application (wife, daily driver, kids, v6), it was a cheap, effective, OEM-ish route that gave him a unique look and sound. Not for everyone, perfect for him!!
