Many thanks to the team at Corsa Performance (TMG Performance Products) for working with me and agreeing to do this special run. This will use the current Product #14457 (2.5" Cat-Back, Dual Rear Exit with Single 4.0" Polished Pro-Series Tips) that fits the 2011-2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7L V8 MODIFIED with a different exit/bend out of the mufflers using 2 round tips per muffler staggered to better fit the rounded contour (see pics). Product # and ordering info TBD per below.

First, let me assure everyone I get zippo from this deal (I paid for my exhaust) I am just being the front man since I was first and live next to HQ. Please run all questions through me at this point. If you call Corsa, he will just direct you to me….thx

Looking to know who is willing to step forward and speak for one of the initial systems. I am looking for those who WILL BUY and those who are JUST INTERESTED. If you need to do research, decide, ect…then you are JUST INTERESTED which is great too. If you would be placing the order right now if you could then you are a WILL BUY. Just trying to see what the initial pool of buyers and prospects looks like so Corsa can decide the size of the first run.

To respond either reply to this thread or PM me. Either way, your spot on the WILL BUY list will be confirmed by return PM. To ensure the WILL BUYS get their systems the order info will only be sent by PM that way no one gets boned.

This is also posted on Jeep Forum Dot Com under the same title. I will combine the lists so please only reply on one forum.

Per Corsa…On a group buy of 10 the cost is $1597.50 each + shipping + ZERO TAX (In and out of Ohio). Once an order of 10 is ready to be placed it will take about 2 weeks lead time (Could be 3 pending work load in engineering/production at the time). It is a one box system that is about 98 lbs and some change, Shipping is expected to be around $75-105 flat depending on location, residential vs. business address, etc…The group buy would be run through one of Corsa’s nearby (Berea, OH) accounts to handle cc processing etc…The ordering contact info would be PM’d to the WILL BUY forum members.

As of 2/7/14 I have (7) WILL BUY folks. Those (7) should have a PM from me. Let’s see what the numbers look like through Sunday 2/16/14. Should have at least (10) by then. That would mean you could have it by St. Patty’s Day or so.

The Volant CAI is not included in this group buy. Pics below, videos to come in separate post.

FAQ’s:

EASE OF INSTALL? Corsa will install for FREE at their facility in Berea, OH (really!). Or go here: http://www.corsaperformance.com/media/pdf/install/INS5182.pdf

FLOW? Average of 97% gain over stock

WHAT’S IN THE BOX? Everything needed to complete the installation is included. Each system includes the mufflers, pipes, hangars, 304SS Polished Tips you choose and all of the necessary instructions and information for installation.

PERFORMANCE? Performance varies by the vehicle and system chosen. On average, CORSA systems will deliver a 3-5% increase in horsepower, though this may vary by vehicle. For example, our Corvette systems will see in average increase of 17-19 HP increases with the addition of our full cat-back system. In addition to HP increases, CORSA systems will dramatically increase free-air-flow, allowing your other performance modifications to achieve their full performance potential.

WEIGHT REDUCTION? 13 lbs. lighter than stock

DRONE? CORSA's Patented RSC® Technology is designed for an

AGGRESSIVE SOUND under acceleration and a DRONE-FREE EXPERIENCE

WARRANTY? Your current stock exhaust: None! Corsa: Limited LIFETIME warranty for as long as you own your vehicle with proof of purchase.

MY 2 CENTS? It sounds awesome when you want it to but is civil otherwise. It is the least droning system you can get, virtually zero except when MDS kicks in you get a little drone but it goes away. All exhaust mods affect an engine’s power delivery. The Corsa takes a small bit off your 0-60 times but really perks up your rolling “punch”. It has a really cool feedback snarl when you stomp it and the tranny shifts. Heads snap when I hit it. Pretty funny. Gas mileage impact? Well, never mind that’s not the point.

SYSTEM/PIPE DIAM/MATERIAL?
Stock, 2.25", galvanized
Corsa, 2.5", all 300 series stainless
Magnaflow, 2.5", 400 series stainless pipes, 300 tips
Flowmaster 2.5", 400 series stainless pipes, 300 tips
Gibson, 2.25", 400 series stainless pipes, 300 tips
Borla, 2.5", all 300 series stainless

SO WHAT? Regarding the 300 vs. 400 stainless composition. For the consumer 300 series is better. It has no (or very little) iron so it resists rust/corrosion the best but is more expensive to make and harder to bend. 400 series is best for the manufacturer. It is softer and easier to mandrel bend and cheaper. They mitigate it's surface rusting by using it in the undercarriage/non-visisble areas and use 300 in the visible tips and sometimes post/end muffler if visible. I guess the 400 series has more iron in it that when it goes thru its initial heat/tempering cycle in use the iron comes to the surface and forms surface only rust. Looks bad but supposedly will not rust out internally.

Interested in the same setup, do you feel any power increase?

For now, I am going to buy the CAI and wait for the exhaust to be released.

Like most aftermarket exhausts the power curve is adjusted. The higher flow actually nips a small bit off the bottom (0-60 went from 6.5 to 6.8) but gives more than it takes in the upper low and middle, top-end who knows (too afraid of a ticket:() It has noticeably more power/pep from a rolling start like hitting it on the freeway onramp, OMG fun!

This thing has a cool gurgle/rumble at idle/rev, is stock silent at cruise (zero drone except for ocassional slight drone when MDS kicks in) and sounds like a modded motor when you stand on it. It WILL turn heads.

FYI, I will posting a "who's interested" call out for this exact system. Corsa will do a special production run if 10 say they are in. I'll add you to the list.

This sounds good, I am coming to Jeep from G35 and the main problem with it is not all aftermarket parts increase the power, especially CAI.

FYI I am living outside US, so I would like to know the price and the ability to ship internationally beforehand (so I would be in with 50% possibility), cause I can get Mopar (which is identical to Corsa) from my dealer, but I am waiting Corsa as I may save some money.

Can't imagine shipping being an issue (other than cost to you) but this will most likely never be a mopar available item due to volumes/demand. Corsa direct will do a special run of 10 and I don't think Mopar will productize and stock it at those low volumes. Could be wrong tho.

So what is so special about the '14 that the existing Corsa system won't work?? I didn't think jeep changed the exhaust systems at all and the pictures provided look the same as the system in my '11. Other than the quad tips because of the rectangular bumper cut outs instead of the round ones. Speaking of which, I've seen some '14's with the round tails and some with the rectangular ones. What's the determining factor in which style is present??

#21 ·
"Summit" models in 2014 only have a different rear bumper skirt to give a sleeker (or whatever you call it) appearance. It has a removable hitch area cover (vs. exposed in non-Summit) and the trapezoid/ exhaust tip cutout (vs. round in non-Summit). So, you are correct, the difference is the dual tip per muffler.

BUMP...If you are interested in this setup I have edited/posted all the info you need about availability at the beginning of this post, please check it out....thx:D

#24 ·
Thanks for the info. Wasn't aware it was a Summit deal but I should have guessed since I noticed early on that my Summit had things even a regular overland didn't - like the full chrome blinged out grill...

I haven't kept up fully with all the '14 changes...or I might run out to the dealer and buy one, lol.

Actually if I could piece together the best of the '11-'14 it would be

'14 Summit front clip
'14 tails
'11-'13 flipper glass
'14 radio/nav
'11-'13 HVAC controls, etc
'14 8 speed w/ '11-'13 shifter
'11 Summit interior
'14 gauges & starter button
'11-'13 steering wheel

And I do like the '14 summit rear bumper but I already dropped nearly $2K into a Corsa exhaust already...

MxRacer965, that's a great dream JGC. I would only add 6.4l Hemi and the whole package at current Summit pricing....ya, right!

Off topic, I see you moto! I DID until I cased a triple in July last year :(. Tib/Fib both snapped, drove down through Talus (ankle) and blew it and cartilage away. Also tore the scapholunate ligament in wrist. One external fixator, 3 surgeries, 4 casts, 4 plates and 21 screws later I am off to the doctor again for possible screw extractions due to "complications". Sucks getting old! Sold bike in December. Bought the Summit as my "comfort" vehicle

And like a true mx'er the first thing I did after getting the new ride was start tinkering. Who rides a bone stock mx bike? Nobody! And who drives a bone stock JGC? Well, nobody SHOULD :D.

Ah, yes, and the 6.4 from the SRT would be a must-have for a dream Summit. I'd love an SRT8 now, but the interior isn't as nice...oh, and a hemifever tune is a must.

Yep, been motocrossing since I was 12...so 21 years now. And ouch...your injury sounds pretty nasty. Did you have to give it up because of the injury, because you wanted to quit while you still could, or did a significant other go into full on "nagatron" mode? I've torn my left ACL 3 times, meniscus twice, MCL once, broke most of the ribs on my left side, separated shoulder, dislocated thumb, a few concussions..and I think that's it. I still don't have my ACL from the last time I tore it 10 years ago. First tear just messing around on my little brothers RM80 in the back yard, 2nd time first lap of first moto just landed funny and hyper extended...didn't even fall over, last time bailed on a double on a practice day when I saw a kid on a 80 where I was going to land at the last second before taking off so I threw it away. That was the ACL, ribs, and shoulder. I didn't ride for a year after that one. After my 2nd ACL I swore if I tore it again I'd quit. That was 10 years ago. :D

Nothing compares on the fun/thrill/challenge meter...

And yeah, I think the wife sometimes does't quite "get it" when I want to tweak a nice vehicle...but she does "get it" when it comes to horsepower, lol. M35 or M45...M45 for the V8. She loves it.

Counting AtlSummit we are at 7 WILL BUY folks. Almost there. If you are on the WILL BUY list you should have received a PM from me.

Go back up to beginning of this thread for details, pics and videos.

Here's a teaser...:D

Count me in for the corsa.

Just curious, what do you mean by production rum? It's not for testing purposes is it, I don't want to be a Guinea pig lol

New here. Just got out of a Ram Laramie PU, and into a '14 Summit 5.7. Black with brown interior. Been reading up here and like the community. Not new to forums, but I am to the Jeep.
I am a definite on the corsa.. Let me know what you need from me on this.
Thanks.

Who will be the person to make it happen? I installed Volant CAI and want the exhaust now. :)

#47 ·
Hey everyone, just picked up my new Summit Hemi recently and have already installed a CAI and a Diablo tune, and now looking to add an exhaust. Is this limited production run still available? I was looking at Magnaflow, but after stumbling across this thread, I am interested in learning more...
Corsa vs Magnaflow
Ease of install
Current lead time
Although stated it was limited, drone is big issue - 14summithemi, what's your scale from 1-10?

Thanks in advance!

Should be still available. We are waiting on a total of 10 buyers, before Corsa will make the run. I want this exhaust, because like you, I hate drone. Even a little.

I'll take a look for curiosity's sake but it's not really relevant as it would had to have been a custom local shop thing. Corsa did not do it. One can always buy the non-Summit Corsa Cat-Back and have a local shop cut off the round tips and somehow weld on the factory trapezoid tips but those angles are crazy. Plus, that would void the Corsa lifetime warranty since it is an "alteration" and "an unintended installation." Also, that would change the sound of the system (better? worse?) as the tips are a big part of the sound tuning.

So, when you say "those angles are crazy", are you referring to the angles of the Corsa pipes and the limited space to cut and retrofit the rectangular factory tips?
