Re: 2014 V8 is weak?

I've driven a 2012 Tahoe and it didn't feel like a slug. In town it felt faster than my 2011 WK2, on the highway the Jeep feels faster. I've also recently driven a 2014 GC with the Pentastar and in eco it felt kinda like my Jeep but once you turn eco mode off it's a totally different beast, it definitely feels faster than my 2011 Hemi. And man I loved that sport mode!

Re: 2014 V8 is weak?

I think it just goes to show that it all depends on what you are used to. 15 years ago when I had my CBR F3 (0-60 in 3 secs) everything felt slow for the next 5 years lol.

Yep, everything would be a slug. I didn't find my Yukon was a slug, but I felt it needed to shift to super high RPMs all the time to be fast. I didn't like that, it was nerve racking.

This is exactly how I would describe my work Tahoe.

It did the same while towing, that is the primary reason I got rid of it. I don't think the wear factor is very good at those RPMs

Re: 2014 V8 is weak?

Hello I am new to this website, and I rescently purshased a 2013 model of the JGC, I think they are good vehicles, I have read a lot of the posts with people who have alot of problems with the transmission, and buying the higher end models one would expect not to have these issues, as for the power of the V8 or V6 I think they are powerful, if its speed everyone wants why not spend the money and get the SRT8 or a sedan, or even a X6 or the Cayenne, if you want an all around vehicle that can tow go off roading then the JGC is the way to go, test drive all the trims before commiting

Way too far fetched indeed. Imagine the labor costs involved, not to mention the annual expense of millions of quarts of oil, all for something totally unnecessary.

Yeah, the guy that said this was in the know on the diesel delays and a lot of other things, so I figured he might not be blowing smoke...

O-100 times rate the diesel faster by 0.5 second than the 5.7L, has anyone had any experience with this?

Well...

Since no one has actually received a production diesel WK2 yet...

I'm going to go with, No.

Re: 2014 V8 is weak?

I've been told the same thing by the dealer but it was 0.2 secs difference in favor of the Diesel. Salesman didn't even try to sell me that 5.7L as he was an ex-European Car salesman and was selling me on VM Motori diesel engine, resale value, resale opportunity, engine life, torgue, wt vs torque and actually mentioned the Hemi Tick. He said he felt the difference and couldn't believe it himself. He pretty much had me sold until I took the 5.7L for a test drive at another dealer. Felt the better throttle response but can't comment on 0-100 times.
