Re: 2014 WK2 5.7 - Intake Sound
Did you buy it as a "left over" new 2014, or did you buy it used?
Ours had an "intake sound" that sounded sort of like a mild Cold Air Intake from the driver's side engine bay. Couldn't find anything wrong with the stock intake. Even after an oil/filter/air filter change, still had the sound. However, while changing the oil, I noticed a coolant leak from under the water pump. Took it into the dealership, they looked at it, and came to the same conclusion that I did: bad water pump. They changed it, and that intake sound is now gone. It must have been letting air into the cooling system or something, not sure how it was causing that noise.
These Hemi engines are great, but some like to eat a water pump now and then. I wondered if it would happen to us, and it did. It is covered under powertrain warranty though, so if that's your issue and its new or certified used, no cost other than your time to take it in.
Look under the front end, on the front of the engine, up just in front of the oil drain plug. The coolant leaks are easy to see if its the water pump, red crusty stuff will be dried on all over the place there if it is the problem.
