Has anyone top ended out their 2015 5.7 Jeep yet? I'm going to wait a few hundred miles more before I try it. Right now I'm just under 1,000 miles on the clock. I would like to get at least 1,500 or more before I try to wind it up all the way.

Has anyone with the 5.7 HEMI done it? I wonder if it is governed, and if so, at what? A few guys on You Tube have claimed 243 KPH, (which is close to 151 MPH), but I don't know if they're from the States or down under. They might be set up differently. What's the fastest you've gotten your HEMI's up to?

They are governed around 120mph, the forteras are only T rated. I think the SRT is 155mph or something like that

As stated by others, I would be concerned about the tires, suspension and brakes could handle a potential top speed. It's the "what if" you had to make a quick transition vs. pointing straight and pushing the accelerator to the floor. SRT version would be the exception.

This is the logic I'm having trouble grasping. You pay around $3,200+ more for the 5.7 HEMI option in the Grand Cherokee. Then they deliver it with some crap 115 MPH rated tires. And govern the engine so it won't run anywhere near it's capability in the process.

Now I know this is a real mind full for these guys at Jeep, but how about making 160MPH rated tires part of the engine package? That way you actually have a set of tires capable of doing the speeds the vehicle is capable of.

This makes about as much sense as fishing for Marlin with 5 lb. test line. Or hunting Moose with a .22.

So is the WK2 SRT... man.
And it goes VERY FAST!

They DO... on the WK2 SRT. :(

I do seriously wish there was a Jeep that was Very Fast and could also go off road. Sadly... it seems that I'm just about the only person who actually wants something like this.

My 2011 went to 99 mph, the ticket said 85 mph.;)

If you don't know why or how something is limited you should learn. Your desire shows your limits not the jeeps. I'm thankful for natural selection just disappointed it usually misses its target or takes out bystanders. I'm sure you are well versed in suspension design, aerodynamics, and tire construction. I'm also positive peoples pockets exceed their driving ability and that's makes them think they're very competent high speed drivers. I'm just exceedingly happy you're states away, not because you want to go 150 I'm cool with that, because you don't have the knowledge to go with that speed. This is a big boys game not an I bought it so I can use it league. I suggest some reading and seat time before guessing why the "tires are the limit" not politics, mileage standards, vehicle design, or bad drivers/insurance regulations etc. are the determining factor. Just an assumption, but what do I know. Do me a favor and choose your roads wisely, not a joke but very few places can accommodate 150+ and still have limited traffic, crap jumping out, or a decent surface.

I took mine to 210km/hr. Governor kicked in. It was still pulling so had some room in it yet. I could tell the Foteras were getting greasy though at that speed.

Highway was quiet 4 lanes. The Jeep doesn't have the suspension to do anything but go straight at that speed being on non SRT.

My Acura TL's both were smooth at 240km/hr.

I think it is an interesting question (how fast the JGC can go), but I am not sure trying to hit 150mph is a great idea - I already feel like I am just a bit separated from the road in my summit compared to my '06 overland (a lot more feedback in a positive way). I can only imagine how my new jeep would float over the road, even in "Aero" mode :).
