2016 High Altitude Cold Air Intake

I recently got a 2016 High Altitude to replace my 2015 Altitude lemon. I was wondering if anyone has installed the Mopar cold air intake on their 2016. Because of the redesigned pentastar I am guessing its not going to fit, but I would like some input from others before I sell it on eBay.

Re: 2016 High Altitude Cold Air Intake

I would think the changes were probably internal and software, my guess is the intake I'll probably fit fine on the 16'

Angry Re: 2016 High Altitude Cold Air Intake

I just took off the engine cover and there is no way in hell it is going to fit. They changed the Intake manifold and moved a bunch of crap around.

Re: 2016 High Altitude Cold Air Intake

2016 pentastar changes were the reason the 2016 rollout was delayed, this is what they changed:
2 stage variable valve lift
New intake manifold with longer runners
Updated variable valve timing
Compression increase from 10.2:1 to 11.3:1
4 pounds lighter
5 more hp, 15% more torque at 3k rpm

Re: 2016 High Altitude Cold Air Intake

go to AFE filter site. go to design your own filter. take dimensions of yours and get started! design a dry 'drop in' and you'll be very happy you did.

That said, they are some pretty significant changes, and it is the first year. So there will likely be some issues that have not been fully wrung out. No doubt they will find them and correct them, but anyone who has a first year with the new engine will likely have more issues than someone who waits until the second year.
