With magnaflow, the heat shield isn't needed but i would wrap the wire in rear center of the truck with exhaust tape (see my photo in previous post).

Exhaust swap took me and a friend about 3 hours and it was my first time doing anything like this.

good luck!

Re: 3.6 dual exhaust

I had a local shop do mine. Ordered the rear valance and the dual pipes look great, IMO. At first I had some vibration at idle, the sound was a little too rough for me, and I had some serious drone at 65MPH+. Fortunately, I live in So Cal and the guy at my shop knows someone at Maganaflow and arranged for me to take it in to them for some tweaks. Not sure exactly what they did, but believe they changed out the mufflers and tightened everything up. Now it sounds great and very minimal if any drone. Mines on the quieter side but still has more of a throaty growl than stock. I'll try to get a video made and posted.

Re: 3.6 dual exhaust

Arite i finished the project a little while ago, what a pita the stupid rubber exhaust hangers are. Other then that it went pretty smooth.

Questn for everyone, is there like a burn in period or something with the new install? It smells as if maybe oil or something is burning off. I checked all plastics and the wiring underneath the muffl and nothing is damaged. Please help me out asap i really appreciate it

Re: 3.6 dual exhaust

I would like to have a dual exhaust on my Pentastar V6.....I have read that some have used the Magnaflow 16929 (made for the hemi) with the V6. While I know this will fit, does it improve performance? I have read that using a V8 system might cause issues with back pressure that would actually reduce torque and performance. It would sound good and yet cut back my V6's performance. Any guidance or information to help me in my decision would really be appreciated. I want improved performance most of all. The look of the duals and the sound are secondary.
