Re: 3.6 dual exhaust

look for installtion instructions for a rear trailer hitch, it also requires rear bumper removal.

You don't want to ask me, it was a major PIA. I figured I would never use it and there's no market for it, so I ended up cutting it off.

It would've been much easier if I removed the whole rear bumper but I didn't feel like it.

There are clips that connect the lower bumper to the upper one. They are a hassle to take off in many spots. In those locations, I cut my old lower bumper off, making it a much easier task. Overall, an easy project. There really is no need to keep your old single exit lower bumper. It would just take up space and has no value.

Re: 3.6 dual exhaust

I'm thinking of doing full dual like bolting up V8's or just two mufflers and new tips. Or just getting double tips to replace current chrome tip.

I still have little bit of doubt of getting dual setup since I haven't seen any data showing HP increase for V6. I know dual will give better sound and look though.

Re: 3.6 dual exhaust

I scuffed the lower fascia on my Jeep and bought a new one. It has the dual exhaust cut-outs. Check the for sale section if anyones interested.

Re: 3.6 dual exhaust

I got in my parts for the dual exhaust conversion and it does not appear that I need this part (Exhaust hanger, Left side rear (68056521AB)) I already have one on that side (not in use but it is there) and on both sides the appear to be welded in place. I have a 2012 Overland....maybe a change with the 12 or the Overland vs Larado. Or am I missing something? Have not installed it yet...just wanted to verify that I had all the parts.

The following are parts I ordered and installed to convert the single exhaust to the dual exhaust.

Bumper parts:
1. Lower rear bumper without tow package (68078317AA)
2. Heat shield - Left side muffler (68090953AA)
3. Screws (3 or 4) for attaching heat shield to bumper (68090949AA). I only used 3 of these (see bumper parts #4).
4. Push nut/clip (1) for attaching heat shield to bumper (see pic). I'm not sure of the part # as i didn't order this. I used a 1/4" dia x 1" long bolt, nut & washer.
5. Rivets (2) for reattaching the rear quarter panel molding to properly attach the heat shield to the bumper (6500911)

Exhaust Parts:
1. Rubber exhaust insulator (2) (52128501AA)
2. Exhaust hanger, Left side rear (68056521AB)
3. Screw for attaching exhaust hanger (6101793)
4. Nut for attaching exhaust hanger (6101809)

This information was collected from what's available on-line and in the parts manual.
Hey Ants...any suggestions/tricks to using the plastic rivets? Not sure if I need a special tool or not.
