I was incorrect here....I needed this part afterall.

I have the dual rear fascia for sale in the For Sale forum....check it out. The scuffs are not as bad as they look.

Re: 3.6 dual exhaust

Hi all! I'm new to this site and I have to say I am glad I found it, you are great!

I am pretty sure I am going to have this done as well, but I don't think I'm doing the dyno thing, just not sure where to have it done. I don't care or know much about it, but I don't want to loose anything either from this mod. A friend of a friend is a service manager a dodge and he said as long as you do a cat back exhaust and don't mess with the cat converter you will not void any warranties, is that what everyone on here is doing?

There is a custom shop by me that can make the exhaust for me and they are going to use some magma flow parts as well. It's about $900 installed using I think anodized aluminum (maybe it was steel), to have it stainless steel doubles the cost, do you think it's worth it?
I don't think this is bolt on, but will have to look into this more. The shop says I should gain at least 10hp, I just don't want to loose any either.

Re: 3.6 dual exhaust

I am looking for a V8 exhaust system as I have read a lot of comments that this will improve the mpg which I mainly looking for.

Will post a wanted ASAP. Also have have been emailing everyone I see on craigslist that has WK2 parts forsale to see if anyone did a swap on the exhaust.

Even found an auction for a salvage vehicle but that would be kind of crazy!

Re: 3.6 dual exhaust

I finally got my Magnaflow system installed a few days ago and here is my impression of it compared to stock.
  • On cold starts it roars to life before it settles down
  • the car requires less pedal effort to get moving now.
  • At slowest idle you can't tell the difference between the magnaflow and stock
  • Tooling around town it has a pronounced growl that is neither harsh nor overly loud
  • coasting in any gear higher than second it is near silent
  • Acceleration in higher gear is also not much louder than stock
  • Part throttle acceleration is greatly improved
  • MPG readings have increase

Re: 3.6 dual exhaust

That looks great thanks for sharing the pics. Mannnn, now I see these threads and it makes me want to do a dual exhaust setup on my 12 Overland V6. I know there is a video of a magma flow system on a V6 already, but if you happen to get some videos I would love to see/hear it.

Thanks,
James

Re: 3.6 dual exhaust

I think this has been covered already, but there are soo many dual exhaust threads im already lost. From what I have seen and heard as of now I personally think MagnaFlow has the best sounding dual exhaust on the V6. The tips are very nice and located in perfect spots, and it seems to be priced slightly lower than the other systems. I still want to hear Corsa on the V6, but no one has tried that yet as far as I know.

One question. If I read correctly, on the Magnaflow exhaust (and probably Corsa), you will NOT need to bother buying the driver side heat shield since the mufflers are not tucked way up in the corner correct?
If thats the case all you need to buy for these systems on the V6 is just a drivers side exhaust hanger and the dual exhaust lower valance?

I really want to try Corsa on my V6, but thats a lot of money to throw on a system that no one has tried yet.

Any additional input is appreciated.

Thanks.

Chupse..... (that's the sound of me sucking my teeth, at that comment) I'm from the caribbean

My 2004 V6 touareg had dual exhaust and I bought the rear valance and the V8 Exhaust tips so I could have the tips exposed, so I guess it's deja vu with this car)

I do my own maintenance and I don't relish the idea of having to buy and replace 16 spark plugs.

Come to think of it when I had my 98 Mercedes C280 that was also dual ignition I never changed the plugs and, I had that car for 5 years.

It is good that there are options out there for all of us.

Chrysler sold on some BS about that engine break in period.

because now that my car has accumulated 5000 miles it feels more powerful than before.

Yes, all you need is a hanger and rear bumper with the magnaflow
