The way I see it, or understand it at least, exhaust design relies less on displacement, and more on flow of air. For a 300 hp V engine, regardless of 6 cyl, 8 cyl, etc, 2.5" duals, with a proper merge is a solid choice IMHO. This setup would certainly be complimented by other bolt-on mods.

Re: 3.6 dual exhaust

Currently I have a CAI, I was hoping with the exhaust and maybe some other minor mods I'd have a little better performance. Granted I'm not racing it, I wish I could have got an srt8 or hemi but my ride to work is far to long

Re: 3.6 dual exhaust

My bet on it being slightly quieter with a slight performance increase or at least no decrease at all. I am eager to see dyno results.

Re: 3.6 dual exhaust

*CONFIRMED*

The following are parts I ordered and installed to convert the single exhaust to the dual exhaust.

Bumper parts:
1. Lower rear bumper without tow package (68078317AA)
2. Heat shield - Left side muffler (68090953AA)
3. Screws (3 or 4) for attaching heat shield to bumper (68090949AA). I only used 3 of these (see bumper parts #4).
4. Push nut/clip (1) for attaching heat shield to bumper (see pic). I'm not sure of the part # as i didn't order this. I used a 1/4" dia x 1" long bolt, nut & washer.
*4. updated part number for push nut/clip (68090948AA)
5. Rivets (2) for reattaching the rear quarter panel molding to properly attach the heat shield to the bumper (6500911)

Exhaust Parts:
1. Rubber exhaust insulator (2) (52128501AA)
2. Exhaust hanger, Left side rear (68056521AB)
3. Screw for attaching exhaust hanger (6101793)
4. Nut for attaching exhaust hanger (6101809)

This information was collected from what's available on-line and in the parts manual.

That is the result that I had anticipated. The ECU seems to be ultra responsive so once you keep within certain parameters you can reap the benefits.

The pipe diameter of the OEM V8 exhaust is more or less the same for the V6, so by removing some of the exhaust backpressure giving the center muffler a second outlet to move the spent gasses then it should improve responsiveness overall. Couple that with a better flowing air filter and you should pick up a few mpg's with out the noise penalty of the aftermarket system.

I would like to keep my JGC appearing as OEM as possible so I would go with the OEM hemi exhaust for my V6.

I was curious about that to but I think for the most part, that 'AA' = 2011 & 'AB' = 2012. Essentially the same part. I'm going to be the test dummy so to speak, as I have ordered all the parts mentioned previously.
