5.7 GC Overland Mid-Muffler Delete

I had a few PM's about this and didn't see a thread already started so thought I'd post the video of a pretty cheap but well worth it mod. I use this as my daily driver and logged 60k miles in 2 years. I had the mid-mufflers removed and replaced with X-pipe. I used X-pipe because with straight pipe it caused issues with back pressure on my Charger previously. On the Charger forums this mod was known as the Bryl Cream mod although I'm not sure why.

All in all it cost $160 from a local muffler shop and I love the sound. Sorry about the sideways vid, my son was a better cameraman than me. Check out my other baby making an appearance in the video as well

Do it do it do it lol, you could always plead the fifth or act surprised as if you don't know what happened to it.

That was my next question. The drone didn't bother me but I had a 2 yr old and a 3 month old so was curious about the drone and porbobly get earful of wifey. If it wasn't for the kids I'd do it in a heart beat, but now I may pull the trigger after tax season.

Does it sound weird when the 4 cylinders shut off?

Sounds real nice

I was wondering what happened at about 25 seconds left in the video: when you're accelerating and near the yellow sign, it sounds like the car starts shaking badly..

*edit*
I just thought about this, I'm guessing you have your rear windows open and getting that damn resonance sound...

No I only had the two rear windows about 1/3 of the way down and the pressure inside the car caused that sound. Hence the reason why in the last clip I cracked all 4 windows to equalize the pressure, doh.

I honestly haven't noticed any major sound shifts during cylinder deactivation.

Sounds great man! Maybe a stupid question, where did you get the x-pipe?

Also, was there a noticeable performance boost or was it mostly just an upgrade on the sound?
