5.7 hemi Corsa redesign

Looking at Corsa website and will be 4 weeks plus lead time. The mufflers look different and bigger exhaust tips. The resonators and everything else looks the same.

Re: 5.7 hemi Corsa redesign

Just got off the phone with Corsa when I saw this thread. Corsa claims they fixed some fitment issues they had with the older kits and they tweaked the muffler design to give it a deeper exhaust note.

Re: 5.7 hemi Corsa redesign

You're welcome but I'm sure you had an idea on the changes anyways. I'm going to bite the bullet and purchase the redesigned Corsa Cat-back for my 5.7L CG Overland in the near future.

Re: 5.7 hemi Corsa redesign

When I talked online to Corsa I didn't ask full details. I'm waiting a little while longer. I ordered Bilstein shocks and the front haven't been made yet. The back shocks have come but going to install all at once. Save for Corsa.

Here's a little more. I live a few minutes from the HQ/factory and have been working with auto aftermarket folks and a couple engineers (John Oravec lead). This redesign is as a result of the custom system they made for my '14 Summit Hemi in 2014. They took the, now old, regular single tip #14457 cat-back and just monkeyed with the rear muffs and added a second tip on each side. The point is this was just a forced fit solution that I spent a year trying to get a group buy launched but once I got 10 guys they were too busy for a short run. Soo, they finally called me to productize the system but had made the decision to “do it right” which meant a redesign. So, they took my rig for a month to scan it and do some dev work. They gave me their C6 Corsa ‘Vette for the month…YES, it was an ok loaner -.

The main theme for the redsign besides more consistent fitment in the field was to redo the sound profile. They wanted it to still say “I’m not stock” at startup and idle, be mellow for cruise and DD use and be more aggressive WOT. They hit the mark perfectly IMHO.

The only difference between the re-designed Summit/HA and non-Summit/HA Hemi Cat-back is the extra tip per side as you can see in the pics on the website….the audio clips below of my redesigned Summit/HA version (14992) are 99% identical to the single tip version (14991) with the 2-tip per side having slightly more “trumpeting” due to the extra “trumpet”….

The vid (under the 14492 kit) on the Corsa website is my ’14 Summit mostly in normal to slightly aggressive mode….my vids below of the new redesigned system (2 tip version) cover the fun stuff. 

Makes sense. It also looks lile there is a secondary inlet into the muffler now correct?

I'm curious as to how much horsepower and torque this will add to 5.7 hemi.

Re: 5.7 hemi Corsa redesign

yep, they chose to split the inflow volume outside the muffler...dunno how much of that decision was for back-pressure and how much for sound profile.

Probably none, or if any it will be in sections of the power band you hardly ever see. All about the sound
