I'm trying to gauge the interst for supercharging the 5.7 hemi. There are kits for the engine in a dodge or Chrysler, I'm sure that if we had 50 guys we could have a kit made for us, after all this is a couple grand a pop on these kits.
If we get enough interest ill contat a couple of vendors for a group develop / buy.
I talked with Ross at Ripp. He said you could increase the boost but it would put the vehicle above its operating limits. He said 5psi is conservative number and they were trying to achieve a product that could increase the performance of the vehicle while maintaining its longevity. Ross said that the SC in a14 Summit was getting 0-60 times in 5.1 seconds. Is any one thinking about buying one?
It will work for any of the jeep 5.7l hemis. Im definitely considering about the kit. Was doing different options. Bored stroked 6.4 to 7.0. Or a supercharger to cut costs down and less work for me. Havent decided yet.
That definitely answered my question though! Thanks! Definitely want to maintain longevity of the vehicle.
They said that the SC was bolt on and could be returned to stock fairly easily. Nice to know if you sell the car you can pull the SC out reuse or resell.
I find it hard to believe 0-60 times around 5.1. With the cs the times should definitely be the same as the srt, if not better!!!! Definitely interested, but has anyone actually purchased the hemi sc?

I was surprised as well. You could add more psi and achieve faster times but it is not recommended and could destroy the engine and driver train unless you replace the weak points. If you want a bolt on SC that doesn't need any stock parts replaced your going to have to make a sacrifice with regard to HP numbers.
Launch control. If you read up on it. Is actually power braking till like 70% before it engages. So it is specifically track use. Not road use. No wheel spin etc. But. I dont know how much wheel spin anyone is getting right now. But im not getting any lol. So id count that out. Less you power braking every stop light.. High doubtful.
Ripp should be done tuning their kits soon i think. They are finalizing a few things on my 2014 Durango R/T with the 5.7L Hemi.
They have a supercharged 5.7L WK2 on the road getting some final tweaks as well from what i heard.
Russ at Ripp has stressed the point that his kits will be bolt-on with little to no modification required to the car to fit them. Last he showed me, they had to drill 2 holes to hold the intercooler with.
next week, this is what happens when i'm a guinea pig. although there is a WK2 out there with the same ripp super charger, dont think the WK2 is completely tuned yet.
Where did u see they were sold out, Website or did you talk with them? The website has shown they have been sold out for months. I'm guessing it because they were having some troubles with the 5.7. I hope they get it figured out because I would love one.
The last email I got from RIPP about a month ago said they are still working on the kit and the tuning. I'm just guessing... but I believe they're planning to release the SRT (6.4L) version first and then finish up the 5.7L version.
the srt has been released for many months, i believe a bit more then half a year now. They might plan to do the 3.6 before the 5.7 from last i heard from them too.
