5.7 Intake tube

Spoke with Airaid, they tell me that in about 60 days they will be out with an intake for the 2011 WK2 Hemi. Also looks like we will be able to get their MIT (moulded intake tube) by itself. (runs from factory air intake box to throttle body) No more giant "tumor" in front of the engine....also gives clearence for a catch can.... : )

If you're serious and many others want just the moulded intake tube as well.....let me know, I have a contact at airaid. Am willing to bring it up...I just want the tube myself. (hate the "tumor" in front of the engine)

Re: 5.7 Intake tube

Im down. I will pretty much buy the first intake that come to market as long as it doesnt compelty suck. I am probably more interested in the full intake setup though.

Re: 5.7 Intake tube

Very good....The better the intake options , the better my stuff can work too. I was very disappointed to see how the Bwoody intake did, heat soak is a killer.

Re: 5.7 Intake tube

Kind of trivial I know but, my intake on my Magnum R/T made a better sound than the Borla catback. I hope the intake for my GC will do the same.

Re: 5.7 Intake tube

Will call and ask them if they would be willing to do a group buy on the complete intake and/or the tube as well as what kinds of numbers we would have to generate for this. I too, understand the heat issue here. Would never put an open element filter under my hood. Will keep you posted.....

Re: 5.7 Intake tube

Hey guys does anyone know sort of what this would look like ... I hate the intake as it is now ... I would even go for a snorkle to get some fresh air and eliminate any possible hydro issues.

Re: 5.7 Intake tube

As far as the heat issue goes, doesnt that depend on where the air filter ends up being located? I have never actually seen the bwoody, but its my understanding it was a short-ram intake.

Yup the filter ends up right where the airbox is, behind the washer reservoir. Sucking in hot engine air.
