I don't know if it's been mentioned as haven't read all 10 pages but the WK2 CRD accelerates from 0-100km/h quicker than the V8 and gets better economy than the V6 by quite a bit.

Actually, typically the joke is that those with the bigger truck / engine / lift / whatever are COMPENSATING for their junk. So the penis envy would actually go the other way since the V6 guys don't feel the need to compensate. Hah hah!

I will gladly race any stock CRD with my stock Hemi; from a dig, from a roll, highway, etc... The diesel is not faster than the Hemi, end of story.

Re: Accelleration in the v8 vs v6

I've seen a video of CRD's 0~100km(62mph). First run was 8.1 sec and second run was 8.5 sec. And I thought Hemi should be pretty close to that number or slightly faster.

Re: Accelleration in the v8 vs v6

Its a typo. All reviews, etc. all quote low to mid 7 seconds on the hemi. Probably 7.8 not 8.7 but unfortunately the foreign press has picked up from this typo and put that in their reviews. The hemi is fastest but worst mileage. The Diesel is middle speed with best mileage. The 6 is last speed and middle mileage.

Seriously 8.7? Its faster than my Armada which was rated 7.5 before I increased the timing and got it down a couple tenths. And that has less HP and TQ and is much heavier.

Car and Driver has it at 7.0 seconds flat. That makes much more sense.

I am a strong believer in buying American. With that being said I opted for the hemi. My jeep came equipped with 373 gears so it pulls pretty good.

Exactly. The Hemi performance is intentionally underrated, IMHO. I see 0-60 in 7sec flat or perhaps a tenth or two better. The Q7 with V8 is rated 7sec 0-60 and during play time with a several of them over the past year my Hemi powered WK2 easily pulls away.

^^ I second that.

I just tested mine today in an empty stretch of road behind my area. I've hit 7.2, 7.2, 7.0 7.1 and 7.0 Granted I had a buddy in with me and he was clocking it on his stop watch app.
