Sadly, I don't think the GC is slated to get the 8-speed until the 2013 model. Oh well, that'll give us a year for Chrysler to work the bugs out.

well.. i actually like 5 speed tranny's i find that the taller first and second gears are much smoother when you start from a stop, or come to a stop.. less jerky.. my audi and prior bmw with 6 speed trannys were terrible from that POV, whilst the jeep's 5 speed is very smooth.

I traded out of my '05 Dodge Daytona RC 4x4 Hemi in Sept of 2010 for a Laredo with the Pentastar V6 and after 2 months of trying to give it the benefit of the doubt I had to trade out for my Laredo X Hemi. It was that effortlessly moving the vehicle thing I just had to have back ... Vrroom, vroom ....

Range Rover is also consistently one of the worse vehicles for reliability.

Seriously, it's in the owners manual. Look it up.

Perfectly, and in fact more than happy with the V6 . . . and mine is 4WD. If I need to drain the blood from my retinas, a V8 in a JGC simply isn't going to do that. Nor do I seek out and race other JGC's. So comparing one JGC to another, in my mind, is silliness. There are much better vehicles, and often for significantly less money, that will satisfy any adrenalin junkie with ease.

Well my Hemi is giving me an adrenaline rush, just not exactly the one you'd expect on the street.

Haven't taken her for extreme offroad yet, but have taken her to some rough areas here in Kuwait and she loves to romp through rock, dirt and sand.

Re: Accelleration in the v8 vs v6

Putting an 8 speed transmission behind a v6 and claiming it will reduce V8 penis invy is like taking those pills sold on the internet to make your junk bigger. I don't care how many gears... i mean pills you take you'll never be John Holmes.
