No it isn't and I've owned 4 mustangs, all v8. Its not an option. A spoiler is a wing. Its a base model with available options just like the V6 is a base model with options. They also have a boss, shelby, etc. Those are base models with options. Overland summit is a model as is a laredo. It's not an option. If you go on the Ford site it says the mustang is available in 11 models. 7 have V8 as standard equipment. The others are generally bought by rental agencies and women. And your mom's fat. lol

Re: Advice needed.. V6 or V8?

Nope. Go to the build site. First you choose your style: coupe or convertible. The basic model is a V6 and all other "models" are options on the base. They all have the same chassis, and the chassis is the car.

Why don't you know this stuff?

But also, what do you have against women?

Re: Advice needed.. V6 or V8?

And what about the fact that probably 90% of the Jeeps I see are driven by women?

Re: Advice needed.. V6 or V8?

I have an older (2000) V8 and the new (2011) V6. The 3.6l V6 reportedly has even more power and torque than the my older 4.7l V8. However, putting fuel economy aside, I like the responsiveness of the V8 much more than the V6. When you touch the throttle, the V8 responds instantly, while the V6 has a moment to think about it, then possibly change gears, then give you the power. This is made slightly less annoying by putting the transmission into the "Sport" mode, but when going up and down hills, I'd really rather have less delay than what you get. The only effective way around this is to manually shift the V6, I find.

Re: Advice needed.. V6 or V8?

I think thats more an issue of the drive by wire throttle in the 2011 vs the cable throttle in the 2000...

Re: Advice needed.. V6 or V8?

Dan, also the tranny "learns" from your driving, and since most of the time you're easy on the throttle it will learn to react that way. Disconnect your battery for an hour then reconnect, and that may reset the learned program to factory default.

Hmmm. Ford website says 11 models. Looks like that's bogus. Go check for yourself. As for women, love them but they typically have different priorities then men. Generally they go for looks over performance. Are you an interior decorator or florist?

True but if you drive it in a lively fashion for a few hours it learns your new habits so this shouldn't be necessary. Just the way a V6 vs V8 is. They are replacing the V6 tranny soon because of the complaints like this. Should help but will never be a v8.
