Just added mine - got the dry filter. Sounds great, not to loud unless you stomp on it. The tubing does feel hotter to the touch than OEM. Not sure if that matters, there's been much debate about that. I can definitely feel more throttle response and an overall power increase in my Jeep with the additions of the CAI, ported throttle body and dual exhaust. All I need now is a tune, just gotta wait another 2 years or so, lol

Re: AFE Stage 2 intake for 3.6 V6

Looks good. Thanks for the pics. I assume the engine cover still fits?

Yes, barely though.

Re: AFE Stage 2 intake for 3.6 V6

Just installed mine. I knew to this but the directions were awful. The first thing I noticed was the sound, it sounds great! Maybe a little performance increased, haven't tested it too much yet though

Re: AFE Stage 2 intake for 3.6 V6

Any difference in IAT ? How is the clearance on the coil and VVT wiring ? Is there a support bracket at the front ? YWTK

I wish I knew about motors as much as you do, but I can answer one question. Yes it does have a support mount in the front near the 90 bend in the intake tube.

Re: AFE Stage 2 intake for 3.6 V6

Would someone be able to take a video of it to show the sound? I'm interested in this particular CAI, seems to have some good reviews.

Re: AFE Stage 2 intake for 3.6 V6

I have contacted aFe about using the tube with the stock air filter chamber & their performance filter. I see very little increase in IMAP at high (6300) rpm with the stock air cleaner which is the same as used for the Hemi. My concern is strictly reduction of IAT.

I suspect the "air chamber" is the box in front of the water neck but think any effect on low end torque is minimal because:
1) a six with a single intake has very even flow to begin with.
2) 38" of 3" tubing (about 260 in3) in front of a 222 cid 6 makes a very good plenium already particularly at the low end.
3) any reduction of surface area exposed to the 200F air coming off the a/c and radiator is a Good Thing IMNSHO.

Of course only with proper instrumentation (a dyno) can you be certain but can tell a lot just with OBD-II (see here for my personal experiences with low cost scanners but if you have a laptop, netbook, or Android tablet/smart phone the investment is less than $50) - IAT and IMAP are just two of the displays available.

Re: AFE Stage 2 intake for 3.6 V6

I have a CAI from airaid installed several months ago. Because of possible loss of low end tourque from lack of air chamber, I decided to go with CAI using OEM intake tube. Before buying it, I also contacted Airaid about this and they told me they decided not to have straight intake tube because they didn't see any real benefit by using it. But honestly, even though I'm satisfied with my purchase, CAIs don't give real performance increase in this case as long as WK2 uses 5 sp transmission.

Re: AFE Stage 2 intake for 3.6 V6

For those of you that didn't upgrade your exhaust or go with a ported throttle body does adding the AFE Stage 2 kit make it loud enough to hear the difference. Also, have you noticed a difference in any power, particularly response time from the motor?
