Re: AIRAID Intake Part # 311-212

Why does it say to disconnect the negative battery? Does this really need to be done from under the seat or can it be done under the hood?

After chatting with a CSR at AA I learned that Airaid explicitly notifies their distributors not to accept these types of coupons when they are offering other deals like the $50 rebate. It's a way for Airaid to control their pricing and ensure they're not getting double dipped.

During conversation with the CSR he did point out that the 20% off would work on the K&N intake. Are there any comparos of the Airaid vs. K&N? I like the idea of retaining the stock rubber elbow, but I do know that the ribs on it are restrictive of airflow as well as a noise reducer (not that I care about that part). Whereas the K&N has a metal replacement elbow included, which I'm concerned would cause more trouble than it relieves due to increased heat soak over a rubber material.

Thoughts?

Most of the time it's recommended to prevent any static discharges from damaging any sensors which is highly unlikely, but Airaid doesn't want to be held libel for any damages that could occur. CYA at its finest.

I think they want you to disconnect the battery so it can reprogram the system with the new air intake..
