Re: Alternate to upgrading exhaust

Replace the muffler and leave the resos. I have 2 magnaflow mufflers and left the resos. Mine is louder because of the LT's but I know someone with the stock exhaust manifolds and it is louder than stock.

If only someone will make LTs for the 2011 WK2 5.7. I would definitely buy a set.

Yeah a shit ton of hot inefficient air,

Re: Alternate to upgrading exhaust

No... not really. Other posts here have indicated test results that prove that it is not any hotter air than what was measured with the factory air box.Nothing is perfect... we try and do what we can with what we have. At higher rpms, say around 4500...there is a noticeable feel in the seat of your pants acceleration. I have had proven experience with on the street comparisons and flat out racing against other stock vehicles.Granted the wk2 is not a SRT 8....but I need a true 4 wheel drive capable vehicle with ground clearance. It is fun to try and have at least a little performance with my practicality.....

Re: Alternate to upgrading exhaust

The next thing we tried was welding an H pipe where the resos were. This changed the drone to a different RPM but it is still there so much that I am ready to give up and go stock and live in silence. I can"t believe no one has gotten over this problem yet.Come on guys, work on this ,PLEASE!!!!!!
