Re: Anybody try a Borla Atak for the SRT on a 5.7?

Thanks for the pics Scott! Appears to look pretty damn close, except for the second set of valves, I don't think ours has the extra valves on the back half of the exhaust, or at least not in the same location, so I will have to measure a couple of times prior to the cut!

Scott, you mean the cut and installation takes place down-stream from the valves?

not sure what you mean...but the cut is made just in front of the valves so they stay in place.

Re: Anybody try a Borla Atak for the SRT on a 5.7?

On the SRT, there is a second set of valves, past the muffler, and before the rear resonators. We do not have this second valve on ours, and that is what the installation instructions use to go off of for a reference point when cutting the pipe to install the Borla. Don't need the valves or to use them as a reference point, just need to take a good accurate measurement, and we will be just fine.

Re: Anybody try a Borla Atak for the SRT on a 5.7?

Getting closer! I got notification that the exhaust shipped, and I should see it Tuesday. Then need to jam it over to the powder coater and see what they think. Not sure if I want to do matte, or semi gloss, if one would be easier to clean than the other?

If I had to guess, semi gloss would be easier to clean much like people use semigloss wall paints in kitchens and bathrooms, because it is easier to clean.

That being said, if its black it likely won't ever show anything unless you get some light mud on it... Even then a hose should clean it off no prob.

That's what I was thinking. I will talk to them about it and see what the options are. Satin sounds nice but I don't know a thing about powder coating!

OK, looks like delivery on the exhaust got pushed out until Wednesday, along with the wheels! Damn!

Re: Anybody try a Borla Atak for the SRT on a 5.7?

Me neither! Looks like something changed, and both it and the wheels should be here today. I won't get the exhaust installed until I take it and get it powder coated, but as soon as I get it I will run it over to the boys and see what they think. Stay tuned, could be as soon as this weekend, or maybe weeks!

+1 to the make-it-so attitude with the srt8 axle back system. Love how it looks and sounds, will be cool to see it on the 5.7L.
