RP API meets Chrysler's spec MS-6395T. M1 does not.

Re: Anybody using Royal Purple in there v6 engines??

My dealer and several other places are now using Pennzoil instead of M1 - I was told that M1 had changed their formula and it was not as effective as before????

Wrong.

Says right on the M1 6 pack of 5w-30 that it meets Chrysler specs.

Royal Piss would make the 4.6L engine in my 2004 mach 1 tick like crazy.

Re: Anybody using Royal Purple in there v6 engines??

So? that doesn't mean its as good as before - it can meet the specs and still be inferior to other products - my guess is that Pennzoil came up with a better incentive for Chrysler, Jiffy lube and my local garage

FWIW my 2001 has had nothing but M1 in it since the initial change after the factory fill at 2k miles... The last one I had to get Pennzoil as my garage had switched and didn't have time to screw around with it.... So far so good...

For Canada maybe? Not here:
(I'd trust Mobil's site before whatever that is)

Mobil 1 | Chrysler MS-6395 Specification

5W-30 Synthetic Oil | Mobil 1™ 5W-30

5W-20 Synthetic Oil | Mobil 1™ 5W-20

I was surprised also. I still wouldn't worry about running it. I had a case for my Ram and Jeep (Costco sale). After this though, I'll probably stick to Pennzoil Platinum. Chrysler seems to be in bed with SOPUS now.
