Re: Arrrgghhh! Beaten by a rav 4!

I can't believe there's that much of a difference between the 4 and 6 cylinder Rav4. My in-laws have a 4 cylinder and I absolutely hate that thing, such a dog engine with no power at all.

Try about 100 HP difference between the 4 and six cyl engines! 4 cyl=166 HP
6 cyl= 270 HP.

LOL. Seriously?
270hp and 260lb-ft of torque in a vehicle that weighs around 3500lbs with a 5 speed transmission.

That's only 13 lbs per HP.
15 years ago that was 'super car' territory.
My how times have changed.

Re: Arrrgghhh! Beaten by a rav 4!

My folks have a V6 Rav4. While I hate, hate, hate the interior and exterior, that thing really is quick! Let's just say I don't back down from running with people when I have their car.

And theirs is the AWD; the torque is very noticeable.

If racing is that important to you, you should really just start looking for a used SRT immediately, IMHO. I'm guessing it really isn't, but I hear ya on not wanting to be a chump when all you want is to be respectable. Some engines pop and others just miss, sounds like yours was soft from the factory. Sorry.
