I just bought a 2012 laredo with the 5.7, i want to upgrade the exhaust but don't want to deal with the Drone noise some systems make. I have seen some reviews of the Corsa and Borla but all have mentioned the excessive drone on long trips, Any thoughts or recommendations would be most appreciated
One thing I can tell you is DO NOT do the mod where people are cutting out the suitcase muffler and replacing it with an x pipe. Lots of people say it sounds great and is a cheap alternative to buying a system. From personal experience it sounds amazing when standing behind the vehicle, but inside it drones like crazy and sounds like a tin can when you're on the throttle. I ended up having the suitcase welded back in and now my exhaust system creaks because one of the hangers is bent from the way everything was cut and re-welded.
Don't just remove the suitcase make sure you add some type of resonator in replace of it. I replaced mine with 2 Vibrant can resonators, added a X-pipe as well as replaced stock mufflers with Magnaflows. There is just a little drone but if you don't want the sewing machine sound then to get a good deep throaty sound that the Hemi should have, like any performance exhaust, it will have some drone. If you don't want it to sound sporty then keep it stock.
I have photos of what I did and it really sounds great, I can post if you would like to see.

What is the X-pipe like unit you have there? Is it a resonator?
I have the Corsa 14991 and it sounds amazing but it a tad loud for me. I'm looking for a solution to quiet it down a tad... Or I may have to swap it out for a Borla.
I think i am just going to bite the bullet and get the
CORSA 14457 and as most of you know it Ain't Cheap
will look to see if Corsa has any installers in the area. I could probably do it myself, but this way if something does go wrong the installer will be on the hook
I put Corsa on my 3.6l and it sounds amazing, drone is very minimal at cruising speeds. When coasting down hill, it's as quiet at stock. Wide open it sounds amazing. Heavy price tag, but even my gf loves it
I tried the Borla and took it off, couldn't handle the drone at cruising speed in highway, around 2k to 2.3k RPM. Now I have installed an OEM exhaust from an SRT and couldn't be happier. Those have the adaptive exhaust valve and help reduce drone significantly.
If anyone is interested I'm looking to offload my Corsa 14991. It's the polished tips. I'm driving 2017 GC 5.7 Limited. Put about 250 miles on the exhaust so it's broken in. Unfortunately just not happy enough with the sound at this point. PM if interested.
I'm very interested. Why aren't you happy with the sound? I want something that sounds a bit meaner when heavy on the throttle, but it's a family car. I don't want something on that makes the interior louder at idle or while cruising.
I really liked the note during idle and cruising. Wasn't a fan of the WOT sound though, I prefer a deeper growl than the higher pitch of the Corsa. Unfortunately for me it's all or nothing - if I don't like all aspects then I won't keep something that I use so much day in day out.
Just curious, did you guys took the stock resonator first and listen to the exhaust sound before? installing another exhaust? I dont have the hemi, i got the v6 on the trail hawk and did that and installed a 4" black tip. Sounds aggressive and no drone.
