Re: Better fuel economy..?

My wife's 2009 liberty has been solid, she loves it (but she buys cars based on color). She gets near 20 mpg in mostly city and country roads, but she is also a conservative driver.

Re: Better fuel economy..?

I love my WK2 dont get me wrong, and I apreciate the jeep is trying to make their jeeps better on gas but I am willing to get less MPG in order to feel like I actually got a Hemi in my Jeep.

Re: Better fuel economy..?

OMG that's terrible. I average over 21 and routinely get 25 or better on long trips, running 5-7 over the posted speed limit.

I avg 13.5 in my 3.6 v6. Sucks. I live in San Francisco. Too many hills in the city.

Averaging between 17-18, mixed highway and city. I baby the 5.7L and it just wants to drink gas like its going out of style.

Complaining about fuel economy and complaining about performance? Seriously, you have to choose between the two in a vehicle this large.

I get 13.3ish all city with a bunch of hills. I've started to take the interstate for a mile or two (I live really close to work) to reduce stop lights, that brings it up to 13.5-13.7.

I get 21-24 mpg highway depending on the hills and mountains I'm driving through.

How can you drive faster than anyone else and still get better than EPA city millage? I don't drive faster than anyone else because this HEMI is worse than the old 2008 and yet I don't get better than 11-12 summer and 10-11 winter.

Re: Better fuel economy..?

Once I no longer needed the cargo capacity of a Ford Expedition I traded it in for my Jeep, but even with that 3 ton behemoth I never got below 16 or 17 mpg. What are y'all doing to get such poor fuel economy?

Re: Better fuel economy..?

There are too many variables to logically answer that question...when I take the time to figure it up, I find that I average 16-18 "around town" and 19-21 "on the interstate." We budget/spend about 3% of our HHI to gas, so it is not really something I concern myself with.

Re: Better fuel economy..?

Yeah, 3% is about right when I count all four drivers. But I just dumped my home phone land line, and that was only $25/ month. I just hate to waste money.
