Re: Borla Catback Sound Byte Teaser

How about a description of the sound levels at cruise speeds...any intrusion into the quiet cabin? How did the tuner work out?

Re: Borla Catback Sound Byte Teaser

Thanks guys. I literally have only driven this thing 3 miles, so no other feedback yet. I'll get both streetside and interior cabin WOT clips up soon.

Chibianh, this is not the ORII, so can't comment on the fitment with plates. I'll add skids around the exhaust where possible next spring, and will be installing the tow hooks this weekend. I'll try to take a photo when the rig is up on a lift for winter rubber.

Smoove and JH, Borla did not recommend the alternatives of Touring/S Type/ATAK for the Hemi as it needs it's own exhaust tune to mitigate droning while cruising under 4 cylinder mode. David Borla sound tuned this proto himself, as he evidently does for every new system.

In the little i've driven the vehicle, cruising speeds have no real droning intrusion, both idle and moderate speeds give a low growl that is fine for phone or moderate volume music, and WOT squeezes the beejeebus outta your brass monkeys.

Interior Cabin Clips below. Note these are with Firestone Destination AT's and Roof/Ski Rack.

Streetside WOT forthcoming, need to find a quiet stretch of road.

First is at Cruise Speed MDS is in ECO Mode

Second is Reasonably Steep Uphill Highway Run

Borla rocks, I was keen on magnaflow too but maybe I'll think of that when I've had enough of the awesome Borla.

XR-1 Racing Exhaust This is THE HOT set up in drag racing. This patented, award and race-winning product was designed to replace your current open header collector and serves as a power producing merge collector and muffler -- all in a single unit. Made with the same patented, award and race winning flow through design as the Standard XR-1 Collector/Muffler. This muffler, however, is designed for door car applications where a Standard size Collector/Muffler is too large. Application: Dragsters, Full chassied cars accepted in NHRA, IHRA, Hot Rod Series, Brackets, Super Chevy, NSCA.heres the article: re:Borla Exhaust

Re: Borla Catback Sound Byte Teaser

exhaust Installation is pretty straightforward-it's just plumbing, after all. Cat-back exhaust systems will supply you with the hardware (nuts, bolts, and gaskets) to bolt it together. A car lift is the optimal way to maneuver underneath the car, but not many tuners have one in their garage! Typically, you only need to get the rear of the car up in the air enough to get the job done; just don't forget to support your ride with some quality jack stands. NEVER work under your ride supported only by a floor jack! Installation is basically unbolting your old exhaust system and replacing it with your new cat-back. If your new performance exhaust is properly designed, it should use all the stock mounting points and exhaust hangers. If you have an aftermarket rear bumper, things can get a bit hairy, though you may need to adjust or change the location of the exhaust tip to fit your bumper.
