Re: CAI 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude

Dude I'm sorry about your Jeep.

There's a lot more to it but there's a pair of temp probes there at that point. While the tube absolutely affects temps, it's not anywhere close to pivotal. Put your hand on your intake after a long drive in 85* weather, mines ~30* cooler but air temps into the engine barely drop and at speed are identical, however. In combination with other efforts the gains, losses are moe consistent, and significant. I'll take a pic later. I've definitely lost at least another 2hp due to the weight and it's still noisy as heck.

Re: CAI 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude

It ok for now.

It was a sort of blessing, as I have ordered a new Jeep because I just cant drive anything that has been through the mess this Jeep has gone through.

It makes weird noises and it just does not feel the same shiny new feeling.

Below is my progress for my new 2015 Overland. through the DC group buy.

Re: CAI 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude

For those questioning on getting a CAI for the JGC... I got mine because it makes an awesome sound while gunning it. Does it help with MPG or increase torque or hp? Don't care. I like noise so this amped it up for me.

JeepRide what's your reasoning for moving up from an Altitude to an Overland? Minus the obvious options/ features..

Re: CAI 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude

The main reason is I plan on taking this 52k MSRP. ride through the mud, and over the rocks. LOL

Not really. I got it for 7% below invoice through the DC group buy.
But I want to take it to a Jamboree event this summer or fall out west and you can't do anything but jump puddles in the AWD Altitude.

The Overland is what I really wanted and I thought it was just too much.
The after seeing the DC group buy, I decided to pull the trigger.

My new Overland was just driven home last night and I plan on making it into a Overtude.

I already ordered the Badges and Grill inserts and Fog light bezels.
Next are rims and tires and fender flares.

Re: CAI 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude

I just saw those flares on a lifted GC the other day. They look really bad ass in person, especially with oversized mud tires and blacked out KMC rims. Really set off the lift and rims nicely.

Re: CAI 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude

Rented a 2015 RAM pickup the last 2 weeks while mine was in the body shop after some clown whacked me.
That 5.7 has the nastiest, raspiest snarl you could ask for. Lifted the hood, and it has
what looks like a CAI (OK, hot air intake). A single pipe into the manifold, vs the wide air plenum on the Jeep. Is that the difference? Or is there less sound deadening material in the firewall? Just an awesome sound; had a blast with it & the 8-speed tranny. In contrast, I can barely hear my Jeep motor. If a CAI alone makes that difference, I'll add one immediately! Anybody know if it makes that much of a difference?

Re: CAI 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude

It does give it a nice look...
I'm done with the front end of my Overtude.
Pic coming soon.

Not sure if i should paint them or to leave them black on the Bushwhacker Flares?
