CAI intake pipe

Hey all, I have the Airaid drop in box and filter. Its a clean looking set up but I was hoping to get that deep genuine CAI sound from the engine in the upper RPM's. Does anyone know if there are places that just sell the intake tubes that I could tie into the Airaid box?

Would changing out the stock piping give me that sound im even looking for?

Re: CAI intake pipe

I wouild go with the volant if you want the intake piping. But you could also do a custom piping. It would just be a 90 degree elbow and straight pipe, few worm clamps and some silicone sleeves

Re: CAI intake pipe

Ya, thats what I was thinking.. I already spent the money on the box and filter so I might at well do a custom piping set up. I wish I knew Volant sold a complete kit instead of jumping on the Airaid kit.. Anyways, before I get into it, do you think it will give that deep CAI sound by replacing the stock set up (pipe). Overall just looking for a little bit of sound in the upper RPM's.

Re: CAI intake pipe

Yeah I was thinking about a CAT back exhaust.. Some of the kits are pretty pricey and I read that someone reported that the dynomax kit droned really bad. I am coming from a 2007 5.9 cummins with quite a bit of work done so the quiet peaceful drone free ride is nice right now lol.

Re: CAI intake pipe

I figured I would share a pic of the intake I bought along with a few more pictures of the jeep. I am very happy with it, going on 3 weeks since I got it

20 % matching tint

$8 mesh grill that I made
