I hear Comp Cams can do custom grinds, but I wouldn't really know what to ask for as far as dimensions, specs etc.

Thanks in advance!
Try contacting these guys:

Web Cam Inc. - Performance and Racing Camshafts

They may be able to do a custom grind for your needs.

Re: Camshaft upgrade for 3.6L

Thanks, RIPP! Sorry I haven't updated this in a while, but this past week I finally filled out a very long form to request some cam specs or basically just to see what if anything could be done from Comp Cams.

I received word back that NO, they cannot do a custom grind because they do not have any cores available. So I will try getting in touch with Web Cam today and see if they can do anything.

Had no idea this would be so difficult. Maybe Im wrong and over generalizing, but seems like they would be able to contact the manufacturer and get specs over the phone to build one. Meh, what do I know?

Re: Camshaft upgrade for 3.6L

I recently had a custom 3.6L long block built for me ...my engine builder sent out the cams for a custom grind(for Forced induction)

he told me that the work you can do to these cams is very limited..I think he said it was due to the hydraulic lifter setup??..might have been something else...but whatever it was it really limits the changes you can make ... ...so I'm not sure how much performance you'd actually see out of a custom cam...without something like a turbo or SC

we only did my Cams to add a little more duration...to allow for the boost

I would think it more due to it being a VVT cam and not a "lifter" issue. I used quotations because overhead cam motors do not have lifters, instead they use lash adjusters to take up valve lash. Being hydraulic only means they use oil pressure to set the correct valve lash

whoa thats pretty serious looking, that 6 will wind out after about 4k with the blower on, better hang onto the steering wheel! i love that intercooler, that thing is massive. what boost will you be making ? yes it all depends on your tune, that is the hard part !

I'll be pushing 14-15lbs of boost on this setup

Possibly a little less..considering an electronic wastegate setup to keep it at 10lbs but for now the tune will be based off the full boost

Today was the day we tried to start it but it looks like my starter died when I blew my last motor

So a new starter is being installed ..If all goes well I may possibly have this running next week..and then it goes to the dyno shop for the tune!
