Cold Air Intake mpg increase.

I installed a Cold Air Intake, on my hemi, to free up room for a catch can to resolve my oil burning smoke issue and I noticed a bonus. My gas mileage went up. So far its up 1 mpg and its still increasing!

My oil burn issue went away on its own after a few thousand miles like others...

I'm at 5500 miles and it was still smokin'. The dealer basically said they couldn't make it happen, even though it smoked for me all the time at start up. I gave up on the dealer and went for the catch can. So far its working.

Re: Cold Air Intake mpg increase.

I ran tests on the IAT & at 75-80F ambient, the IAT was 108-111F, does have intake in front of grille but Pentastar "hose" is most complex I've seen & are many opportunities for heating.

Anyone know what all of those cavities are for ? Made some guesses but is all they were.

Re: Cold Air Intake mpg increase.

Hrm, usually my MPG goes down after an intake install (for the first week or two) due to my foot suddenly getting heavier. lol
