Like the title says, I'm considering the Hemifever/Trinity programming for my 2013 5.7L JGC Trailhawk. I have the Mopar CAI and will also be adding the Moe's 87mm TB and a Corsa exhaust. But my question is, are there still issues with the changing of stock tire width? Not sure what other JGC's come with but I have the 18" with 265/70/18 GY Silent Armors. Will he take that into account when putting the tune into the unit? I've seen he has different tunes for people with the mods I've listed and I know it helps with some of the shifting issues (one of the big reasons I want it). But anyone have any current input as it seems most posts are a bit dated? Also, does it need to stay plugged in at all times or does it plug into the OBD port when you want to change the tunes or log? If it stays in at all times, where are you guys mounting it? Thanks

Hemifevertuning has great reviews, I bought one used on here to put on my 2012, and my car would not work with it I flashed the computer with different tunes that they gave me and nothing worked, diablosport kept giving me the same response as flash the computer again, I would highly suggest buying a new one so you can return it if you have the same issues. You do not need to have it plugged in all the time, but if you are not plugging it in I would recommend the Intune as it's cheaper and as far as I know the only difference is the monitoring that the trinity does. I hope this helps, I really wished it worked on mine cause I think the stock tune is terrible.

what was your jeep doing after you tried to install the tune?

I've heard nothing but good things about Hemifever's custom tunes for the hemi v8's. Sean's tunes are excellent according to the feedback on this forum. The Diablo firmware on the Trinity or intune when attempting to change the tire size however is a complete disaster! And no that's not a thing of the past it's still an issue as Diablo has not been able to correct this issue even after releasing these programmers years ago! They either don't care or can't find a fix for it!
If you do a search you'll find many threads on it, the most recent was a couple of days ago where a forum member couldn't even get his local dealer to turn off the ABS dash light after making the mistake of changing the tire size with his Diablo tuner! :(

Like everyone else has said don't mess with the tire size on the Wk2 or you will throw a code. Just let it be.

Sean's tune are great but just to be clear his tunes only affect the engine performance. The diablo does not have the ability to alter the tranny control unit (TCU) in anyway. So don't look for it to clean up the shifts or change up shift points.

I have a hemifever tune in my '14 Overland and I am definitely happy with it. Considering noone has cracked the TCM the car is significantly better than canned tunes. No need to change tire size unless you're going with 22s or 24s. As long as you have factory tires no need to touch the setting. I have 295/45/20 all around and since the srt8 has same size I didn't need to touch setting. And unless you like the monitoring or planning on major work (cams, headers, etc) I'd go with the I-1000 DCX. Hope this helps.

It would start, with knocking and then die shortly after, you could smell all the extra fuel, then all the dash lights went on, when I went back to the stock tune all was normal again. I did not want to cause any damage to the motor, we plan on keeping it a long time, so I am just sticking with factory for now.

that's interesting. I just bought a trinity from sean at hemifever. went to tune my jeep and it did the same exact thing. contacted diablo and they told me to drive it EVEN THOUGH my engine was knocking.

Ya I had nothing good to say about Diablosports customer service, but I did have a bully dog a few years back on my Nissan Titan and they bent over backwards for me, but I was never really happy with the gains, but I saw on TV that they are able to do custom tunes now, so after the holiday season, I may give them a shot again.

I just installed a trinity on my jeep. The first day I had an issue getting the tuner to "talk" to the jeep but 2 phone calls and 2 emails to diablo (answered with in minutes) I got it going. Once the diablo 93 tune was installed I ran 0-60 and the diablo tune was .2 slower. I just loaded a hemifever tune and havnt timed it yet but I feel a difference, especially when passing on the freeway. I had a bully dog on my 09 ram and loved it. Only complaint was the lack of custom tunes, which I guess is now resolved.
