Re: Corsa Exhaust Install - Quick Update

Yeah its a whole new ballgame! Has a bit more of a rumble at idle...not louder but more character. Its actually pretty quiet sitting in the driver seat with the windows up. When i left my bros house i got on it down his street...he called and said it sounded really good. Didnt notice any drone up to 85mph...didnt go beyond that....yet.

Ya got me Moose... I slacked off on promised AVclip.
Sounds like they'll be available by new Corsa owners soon!
In my humble defense... Corsa had some nice AVclips available when they released the WK2 exhaust too... that I used to compare to other options!

Just getting back from Grand Canyon & Moab.
The trip was great, the Corsa & other mods now have 4500 miles and continue to work without any problems! Expected Oil consumption while breaking in engine... whole trip used about 1/8 quart per dip stick.

The Corsa Exhaust never developed any rattle or buzz, or never shifted in placement. Had heavy Moab mud, and a few minor skid plate contacts with rocks and none changed the Corsa exhaust install.

Only "new" sound was an embarrassing high squeal from disc brakes after a fun 7 mile sliding drive on a mud road during a hard rain! A high pressure washer easily corrected!

Had a good time on the Moab 4x4 trails, the Wk2 QuadDrv2 crawls up & over rocks amazingly, and the 4x4-Low Hill Descent feature is very cool! Not hitting brakes & letting computer control descent is very cool!

Favorite 2 trails in my limited exposure; the Gemini Bridges trial... up the narrow long & high climb to top gives ya a bit of thrill & the 2nd was the Long canyon trail. Shall return for more adventure next year!

The Corsa install & sound never changed through the journey! Sounded great when passing or pulling hard over 100mph... very sweet sound! Cruising decibels at 65-80 was a very mild low tone a little above the stock exhaust. Any downshift or increase in power produced a louder more aggressive tone... still very nice & music to my ears!

Climbing higher altitude mountain highways, pre-downshift low RPM lug-tuggin & associated downshifts never produced a drone.

After 4500 miles, Still fully satisfied with the Corsa! If I had ANY complaint, I would prefer a little lower decibel tone for the mid-throttle pulls... I really like the idle tone & full-throttle tone! The sound of the Hemi hitting higher RPM's is similar to a 60's mouse with Headers & Thrush collector cans!

Someone previously questioned the corsa clearance. I had no contact with Rocks or ground on various steep angle climbs. I followed a new Ford Explorer for a short time and witnessed bumper/body contacts where WK2 w Corsa had no contact.

BTW, the QuadDrv2 with the computer traction controlling climbs up & over rocks were beyond my expectations. Ford Explorer spun & experienced difficulty on the rocks that the QD2 just crawled over without spinning or problems... could feel the power being shifted from wheel to wheel while climbing.

I await the AVclips from new Corsa owners... if needed, I'll add too them!

Yeah all molding paint and rims where powder coated dark mineral metallic. Oh Corsa is I well worth the wait. Three hours on my back so I'm felling it today. I feel a diffence all across the rpm range. No drone

OK then DCJ, you get a hall pass presuming there are Moab and GC photos, plus those Corsa AV clips forthcoming, eh?

Re: Corsa Exhaust Install - Quick Update

Certainly, don't mean to rain on Corsa's parade. I love the sound of the Corsa and Borla Catback, but not sure I'd want to hear it, all the time. I sometimes use my vehicle for business and prefer the more subtle sounding . Has anyone installed Magnaflow?

Re: Corsa Exhaust Install - Quick Update

Scurvy,

I was looking at your pics on the Corsa install (nice BTW) and noticed the center section on your diff. Do you have Quadra-Lift? That diff almost looks like a Chrysler 8.25 center but I see it being independent. Mine on my Summit is totally different and looks to be ZF diff. Just curious. Thx

Re: Corsa Exhaust Install - Quick Update

Interesting. I never stopped to think about there being different diffs on the JGC in a 4X4.

Re: Corsa Exhaust Install - Quick Update

Alright it finally stopped raining up here so i was able to get out at lunch and shoot a couple sound clips. The first one is from a Sony Handycam and the second one is from an iphone4. Didn't have a lot of room to race around so sorry to cut them short. Enjoy!
