Corsa exhaust installed

Installed the Corsa system yesterday along with Eibach pro-kit springs.
Info on spring install here: Eibach pro-kit installed

Install was pretty straight forward. Most difficult part was removing the factory mufflers from the rear hangers... access is a b*tch.
The Corsa system bolts right up without trouble. Since there are several connections it really helps to have a few extra hands (which I had and am grateful for), but this also helps with getting the alignment just right as you have several points of adjustment to work with.

Since I have Stone White with the Altitude pkg I wanted the mufflers to be black to match the theme. I bead blasted the polished tips and painted the mufflers satin black with high temp paint about a week before.

The sound from the system is perfect. Just right for the family wagon. I have performance cars with exhaust systems MUCH louder, but didn't want anything too aggressive for this vehicle. The drone from the MDS is still there as it was with the factory system, but it's really no worse. The sound is subtle when cruising and not annoying at all. And when you put your foot down it comes alive with a deep aggressive sound. Nothing too crazy, but very good in my opinion. There's a touch of rasp in the higher RPM as you'll hear in Corsa's video, but I expected this and embrace it.

Overall I'm very pleased with the system and believe the Corsa is the right choice for this vehicle.

Thank you to all who have posted their reviews of this system before. It was you that persuaded me to go this route.

Here are a few iphone pics.

Re: Corsa exhaust installed

Awesome pics I bet that looks great with the Altitude package! Ugh, its exhaust systems like this that makes me wish I got the Hemi, but at the same time I like the slightly better economy and ability to use 87 octane of the V6.

I know it would be nothing like the V8, but im curious how this system would sound bolted onto the V6. Those dual tips look soo good on the Grand Cherokee which is one of the things I want.

James

Tag - nice!

Was the OEM exhaust 1 piece or several and was the rear tire removal needed?

The OE exhaust is basically one piece with the exception of one muffler that unbolts with a flange. Not sure why they didn't flange both, seems silly.
I had the wheels off since we did the springs at the same time, but I don't see any need to remove them for the exhaust r&r.

Chris Higgins from Borla suggested this $7 tool from ebay or amazon, makes life 1000% easier to remove from the hangers, kind of like a steering wheel puller I bought in the past.

Re: Corsa exhaust installed

I have done a bunch of cat backs and have never needed one of those. WD40 (or similar) sprayed in the rubber hanger and they pop right out.
