Re: Corsa review/instructions/video

Great video! I'd like to hear what it sounds like from the interior with the windows down when you do a mild and WOT acceleration.

What are of Michigan are you going to? You don't happen to work for a large retailer do you?

Re: Corsa review/instructions/video

I'll see if I can get something tomorrow with windows down. Depends on traffic around here!

I'm heading to Kalamazoo Friday, then up to Grand Rapids on Saturday. Spending some time with old friends from college (went to WMU). Originally from Muskegon.

Nope, not involved with retail. I work in pharmacy automation as a software project manager for the largest drug distributor in the US. I travel frequently across the US but this weekend is just for fun!

Thanks! I love it. It's quiet while cruising and it has a great rumble when you get it on it. Corsa should give you a kick-back. I think your youtube videos are going to sell a lot of people on their exhaust.

LOL, would be nice! I know they have a video but it just showcases the outside at WOT. I had to convince my wife to let me get it by telling her if she hated it I would send it back to Amazon since all she saw was how loud it was from the outside at WOT. Just like you I couldn't find any good videos (IMO) of inside to convince both myself and her. If these help get people off the fence I'm glad.

I'll do a final video on the highway and post Friday most likely. That should cover all the bases since Corsa already has a video of the exterior and drive-bys.

Re: Corsa review/instructions/video

quick question about exhaust. Does the Dealerships give you guys a hard time about the exhaust? like warranty issues?

They can only void a warranty if the modification caused the specific failure in question. I've never heard of an exhaust voiding a warranty. But, for example, if the tip on your aftermarket exhaust burned your bumper, then they would obviously not cover that.

That being said, if you were worried about it, this exact same exhaust is sold through Chrysler as the Mopar Performance Exhaust. Corsa builds it for them. I contacted Corsa and they confirmed, except for the badging (Corsa Vs Mopar) that they are identical in every respect.

Re: Corsa review/instructions/video

Nothing worth noting that I can tell. I've generally been pleased with the performance of the Hemi though and increased performance was not a goal for me. my biggest gripe is with the crappy transmission programming. I've never been in a vehicle that had a bigger hard on to up shift to keep engine RPM down as the WK2. Wife's Infiniti M45x with the 4.5L V8 loves to rev and even though it makes less power and is a heavy car it seems to want to leap forward and is generally pretty impressive feeling. That's what originally got me looking at an FX50, but it just wasn't practical with a small child, large dog, etc.

If Jeep could get their heads out of their you-know-what's and get the engine and tranny working in sync with one another for drive ability sake, I think the Hemi WK2 would be worlds better. Instead they seem to think people buy the Hemi for good gas mileage........

Agreed the 645rfe really does a disservice to the hemi in this vehicle. Its really the same transmission as the 45rfe, so its definitely long in the tooth. The gear ratios aren't ideal and the the shifts are slow. With all that being said its a bulletproof trans and should be very durable. It's light years better than the 42rle I had in a jeep liberty.

The ZF 8 speed transmission the hemi is supposed to get this year should be a huge improvement as long as the programming is good. I bet the 0 - 60 times drop by a full second, fuel economy will increase by 10+% and it will feel much more responsive across the board.

However I'm glad I have the 645rfe so I can wait a few years for them to work any bugs out of the 8 speed before I get one. That's a very expensive unit. Just one gear set (there are 4) costs more to replace than an entire 645rfe transmission. And as we can see with the pentastar heads there are always growing pains.
