Couple of questions

Hi Guys....great site for Jeep owners!!

I have a 2012 Grand Cherokee Laredo with the 5.7 Hemi...got 55k miles on it.

I bought a serpentine belt from my Jeep dealer and plan on putting it on this weekend..any special tricks I need to know about?

going to change rear diff fluid soon as well...I have read several post on the type of fluid to get...I can I know for sure which type to replace it with and how do I know if I need a friction modifier?

Thanks

Too many mods to list for each, so let's just say a lot was done over the years.

No pry bar needed, there is an opening for a 3/8" rachet. So a 3/8" breaker bar or a 3/8" rachet with a long handle would work. You can also get the belt tool at harbor freight for less than 20 bucks with a 20% off coupon.

Re: Couple of questions

You also could take a few pictures with your phone too before you start, just as a backup.

Re: Couple of questions

AMsOil makes some great fluids for the rear end, if you have a Traction locking Diff, of almost any kind, (limited Slip) you will need a friction modifier additive...you should be able to contact a Jeep dealer's parts dept. with your VIN, and he can tell you what Diff you have, if you don't know
