Dashboard fuel gauge

How accurate do think is yours? Mine appears to register about 1/8 tank more fuel than actual. This is a non-scientific estimate based on how much fuel goes in at the gas station.

Re: Dashboard fuel gauge

Most gas gauge floats are not linear, and they tend to register more in the top/bottom 1/4 than the rest of the tank.

Most cars now have computers that can do the offset calculations -- But the analog gauges stay dumb. So, overall not that accurate. But, between the EVIC and the GIANT GAS Light -- If you run out, it better of been one hell of a Trail.
