Re: Diablo Sport

A determined chrysler tech can easily determine if the WK2 PCM has been flashed and re-flashed outside of the Chrysler update system. Nothing DS can do about it short of overrunning counters. I don't think the tech can tell what was flashed.

Dunno if Jeep cares. But we do know of at least one individual flagged in the system running oversized tires and subsequently had warranty claims denied.

Life seems to have risks and rewards.

Yeah - I'm pretty sure that if there were a power-train issue, and large expenses were involved under warranty, Jeep would want to know if the vehicle had been tuned, etc. I don't know for sure, but I'll bet they have their ways of finding out. Just sayin ...

Re: Diablo Sport

Has anyone experienced issues in tuning their wk2? I got my tuner today and it won't let me... says I need an update on PCM Calibration. I plug it in the PC and all these errors pop up.

Mike is gone at DS and I'm literally dying to get this to work. Nothing better than waiting 2 years for a tune release and the damn thing doesn't work!

Thanks!

Re: Diablo Sport

Just to run though what I had to do, when I first got it I had to install the drivers before connecting to my PC. After connecting, it identified that and upgrade was needed. Once it was done doing its thing I had to manually go back to the website, enter my SN, and then download the latest CROM (all from the download page). The CROM needed was "trinity_dcx_gas-1r09g_update.crom"

If none of that applies let us know what you are seeing/getting.

Re: Diablo Sport

Picked up my Trinity today. Running a 91 Octane tune since I have not had a chance to give her a solid fill up with 93 (have used 89 since new will switch to 93 because of tune)

Also changed the Tire Size and am having the same ABS issue. ABS still functions but the light comes up on the dash. Even if you switch back to stock the lights stays on. I spoke with a fellow forum member and DiabloSport at length today and they said they are trying to source the problem.

Made some small modifications to the 91 tune (not keeping it for long as soon as I can fill up with 93 will be running the 93 Tune) deactivated MDS and increased the shiftpoint by 100rpm on 1-2 and 2-3. (based on the advice of a fellow member)

The truck really opens up with this thing!!! Quicker shift points and great accelleration. Have not gotten a chance to really test it out as we got hit with a small snow/ice storm (of course an hour after I bought the Trinity!!!) and cant really get a good feel for it.

Looking forward to getting a full tank of 93 and tweaking the 93 Tune with some WOT adjustments. Not sure how much of a difference there is between the 91 tune and the 93 tune. Also looking forward to the ABS light being fixed what a pain in the a@@ looking at that light on the dash.

If anyone else has some good feedback on the Trinity with the 5.7 let us know (ie: adjustments made to canned tune or full custom tunes)

Good info guys thanks

Has anyone with an intake and exhaust noticed a different exhaust tone at idle after the tune? On my 11 Mustang 5.0 it gets really deep sounding with my more aggressive tune.

Re: Diablo Sport

I have the stock exhaust w/ the Volant CAI. I personally think that there is more growl than before. When I say more, I don't mean to imply that it is different than before, just more of it. I really think the tune is taking advantage of the intake and cold air here and digging deep for more.

I hear that the ability to turn of MDS in the tune is something that people with a better exhaust can use to change the sound. Kinda like what Tow/Haul will do but this will do it without the different shift and breaking pattern.

PS - I highly recommend a catch can for anyone that wants to peruse a tune. I dumped mine right before applying the tune and again today. It seemed to have collected more than usual in such a short amount of time.

Re: Diablo Sport

I have the k&n air intake with a cords catback exhaust. Since the tune the idle has gotten a tiny bit bitter. Tiny!!!!! When the headers go in, I'm hoping it'll get a LOT deeper!!!

You guys are making me want to order mine now lol. I'm trying to hold off till spring on mine.

Trelos I bet yours sounds mean with that Corsa.

TK I have a catch can but don't collect nearly as much as anyone else. Filled the can about a 1/3 of the way over 5k miles...maybe a couple ounces.
