Just thought I'd start a thread for those who purchased this tuner (for the 5.7 Hemi) to post their thoughts/impressions on it.

Big gains claimed for the 93 octane tune...is this indicative of what others Hemi 5.7s are seeing in other vehicles? I'm coming from BMWs where chips/tunes really did next to nothing but improve throttle response with little to no change in HP/Tq numbers...in naturaly aspirated engines.

Lots of info/ reviews in the wk2 srt8 forum. Not necessarily this model but no difference between the dcx and trinity... Tuning wise.

True....however there is a difference between the 5.7 and 6.4. I didn't specify, but I was referring to non-srt WK2's.

The point of this thread wasn't to discuss the differences between the devices. Like you and steveo mentioned, that info can be found elsewhere.

The intention of this thread was for those who have the InTune DCX (which is available) and a 5.7 WK2, to share their experiences.

Got it chief. Why not wait and let someone who purchases one to start their own thread? Nah...that would make too much sense.

My response was for Dirty Duck. Unaware if he had checked the srt forum, I referenced it. Yes the motors are different but the reviews could give someone a general idea of what to expect regarding throttle response, shift points yada, yada. Also... May I suggest anger management? Damn you get worked up easy. It's not just this thread either. I think I see a pattern.

No, you may not. I have no anger issues. This pattern you refer to is probably my attempt to get a select few V6'ers worked up. I never once got angry. Busting balls and getting angry are two, very different things. That being said, I've outlined what irritates me, however I typically restrain from commenting on the off-topic posters. The only reason I responded to you was because of your "Got it chief. Why not wait and let someone who purchases one to start their own thread? Nah...that would make too much sense." post. That, to me, sounds like it was YOU that felt silly and that response was an attempt to make me feel like I did something wrong by creating the thread in the first place.

Bigrboland must be in a continuous state of irritation. From what I've seen here, bustin into a thread is common as folks just get an idea when reading a thread, don't think and post. Others just look at threads as unconstrained discussion.

I find a polite "please keep on topic" post instead of having a ranting hissy fit saves time in the long run. I mean, there is just no cure for stupid (bustin in with off topic posting).... but the attitude thing is just going to encourage more distractions and ranting... which clogs up the thread with more ranting and distractions.. :)

Will wait for some first hand accounts of the tuner for Hemi 5.7l. The reviews in the SRT8 forum are helpful but it's kind of a whole different beast to compare.

EXACTLY! Hence the reason for me creating this thread. And now we're on our second page with no useful information. The mods may as well delete it.

I had the trinity, updated the software and everything went smooth. Only problem is abs light stays on. I'm sure future updates will fix that. Loaded 93 tune, then modified for 180 tstat, tires, mds off, speed limiter increased. Didn't touch anything else cause I'm a novice. Oh only throttle boost to 20%. please someone correct me if it should not be that high. Driving is night And day. Better throttle response no lagging shifts firmer ( although I didn't see an option for firmer shifts). I'm really happy and in sure future updates and a custom tune is where the hemi will truly shine!!!!!!

ABS light on is concerning. Sounds like glitches in the software/programming...other than that it sounds like you are digging it

Gotta throw it in to sport and try it out! Noticeable difference just going from auto to sport stock. Any other issues besides abs light?

I guess I don't need to keep my I-1000 that I've been hanging onto in the hopes they'd release a GC tune. One of the main reasons I went with the InTune was the availability to use it on my next vehicle.

Guess I won't be going Diablosport again.

Hey, I did an update and was able to use my Trinity to tune the 5.7 JGC. Cirper shifts, no delays in the downshifting. The website does not show it is available yet, but do an update and you'll be able to download it.

I did some stock 0-60 runs first, the other day they were 6.96 seconds and about 50 degrees. Today about 21 degrees and 6.7 seconds....that was without the tune and just a Mopar CAI. Will be doing some after tune numbers and posting them for you.

That's a lot quicker than the 7.4 that I have seen posted.

Yeah someone posted in another thread Friday the trinity update was released late in that day. Didn't want to mention it here as this thread is suppose to be about the DSX only :)

I emailed mike and i will try to restore to original back up and see if the light goes out. Took it to my friend who is a mechanic and he cleared the code but it came back instantly. It's a tire diameter code.....tried restoring tire diameter to stock but light stayed on. Besides that.............LOVE THE TUNE!!!!!!!!!!!

New to tuning. I can't seem to get an answer from Diablo so I will ask here. Is there any harm running the 87 performance tune and using 89 octane??

I don't understand why they don't have an 89 octane performance tune since that is the recommended fuel by Jeep. Mike L from Diablo once told me to adjust the timing 2 degrees if I wanted to use 89 but I am a novice and don't know if that is correct and what that even means.

You won't necessarily hurt anything, but you won't benefit either. Just don't run lower octane than the tune calls for.

I asked DS the same question about adjusting the tune for 89 and heard nothing back. On my Mustang I can adjust the timing through my SCT tuner, so I imagine it's the same concept. However I'd like to hear directly from DS before attempting it with their tune.

I'm new to tuning. IMHO I wouldn't mess with spark and fuel parameters simply because I don't know enough about them. Only thing I did was rich fuel by 3% in all rpms to account for k&N CAI. Besides that, I will leave everything else for the CMR tuner to figure out after I install headers and he does a custom tune for me. In the meantime, I did figure out how to drive my car in "park" mode. No rubbing, no lights on, no noises. Simply pulled a fuse out!!!!!!!
