Dude. Take it to the dealer. Something is wrong. The 2011 hemis I test drove were rockets.

Re: Does WK2 have electronic throttle control?

ETC does allow for varying throttle response which I believe changes with Selec-Terrain control.

Re: Does WK2 have electronic throttle control?

I agree our 2011 has horible throttle response... and it takes forever to really get into any power off the line... I cant wait for programers to become available... there is really nothing out of the hole... After you mash the peddle you just wait... wait...wait... then bam it starts to pull. But this is why the aftermarket exsist... Most people may never notice the lack of low end... or what ever is there may be enough for most... But I can feel it being held back... This lack of low end could be blamed on the 3.42 rear gears... I can see them causing throttle lag.

SPEED SAFE, NICK

Same here. I was at a complete stop getting ready to turn right and upon entering traffic.. nothing happened for like a second..?

Re: Does WK2 have electronic throttle control?

electronic throttles are the work of the Devil..... NONE of them give you the instantaneous reaction you want.

Such a delay is borderline in a Jeep, but is really terrible in a sports car.

Re: Does WK2 have electronic throttle control?

The throttle lag is very annoying on my 2011 six cylinder. I look forward to Jeep coming out with a fix for this and I hope it is soon. Can't believe Jeep isn't having all kinds of complaints on this specific problem. It takes the fun out of driving an otherwise superb vehicle, in my opinion. I have tried to modify my driving to accomodate the lag but it just does not work, it is there well over 50% of the time when cornering or leaving from a stop at a stop sign. Please tell me that Jeep is aware of this issue and understands it is a serious flaw in their product.

Re: Does WK2 have electronic throttle control?

You MAY be able to improve it if you, without the engine running, switch the ignition to ON and pump the gas pedal quickly three times, then start.
This will calibrate the ETC and give it faster reactions for a period of driving.

It works in my 2006 Hemi anyway.

Re: Does WK2 have electronic throttle control?

Electronic throttles aren't all bad - the one in my RX-8 is very good.

I find the selec-terrain to have a huge impact on throttle response. Left in auto mode it seems to be vague, slow, and combined with a strange operation strategy of the lockup in torque converter for what I can only guess is for fuel economy.

In sport mode the throttle response is very good with much better shifting and torque converter strategies.... except mine seems to not always shift into 5th gear after you get up to speed and cruise

How can you tell it doesn't always shift into 5th?
