Dynomax exhaust/Drone

Thought I'd give some feedback. I didn't see anyone with this setup. I installed Dynomax mufflers in my 14 GC V6. It had factory duals. I kept the suitcase muffler on. It has a fair amount of drone. I'll be looking to change it at some point. Would not recommend it. ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1476110218.221115.jpg

For $200 I figured I'd try it.

Re: Dynomax exhaust/Drone

You get what you pay for. Thinking I might stick to stock exhaust. Maybe get some bigger tips. I wanted something with no drone and just a tad bit more noise. Hate to spend the money on one of these systems and decide I don't like that either. I guess I should just accept that it's a v6 and it shouldn't have exhaust.

Re: Dynomax exhaust/Drone

Had that system on my 2012 Hemi and loved the sound at idle, full throttle and acceleration but cruising speed was terrible. The drone......my gawd! The drone was so so bad!

Re: Dynomax exhaust/Drone

The main reason why this exhaust is soooooo cheap!

Any v6 that I have heard with an performance exhaust sounds like a pissed off bumble been when you step on it.Maybe except for the Gm 3.1 and 2.8 multiport from the late 80's and early 90's.Don't know why but they had a nice growl to them.A v6 is just better off left stock.

What do you mean by the suitcase muffler? Is that on the V6 with single exhaust?

That's disappointing news--I have a Dynomax on my WJ I6 and it sounds fantastic. Rumbles at idle, low growl when I step on it, and best of all no droning!

Infinity / Nissan has done a fantastic job tuning their V6s for great sound. I wished my 3.6L GC sounded as good as the old G35s / FX35s. I've also heard a few aftermarket pipes on the 350Zs / 370Zs that were great.
