Engine Oil Cooler 5.7 engine

The build sheet for my 2011 Overland w/5.7 engine list an Engine Oil Cooler. I can't find any evidence of one. The only cooling unit in front of the raditor traces to the power steering pump. ( the best I can tell w/o getting under the vechicle) Could it be a water cooled type of oil cooler?

Re: Engine Oil Cooler 5.7 engine

If you can figure that out let me know, I too traced the only evidence of any kind of a cooler back to the power steering pump as you did. Mine also has a transmission cooler but I can't seem to find that either? Unless they mean that it routes through the side of the radiator; which to me isn't a really a trans cooler. I would have expected an aux cooler but I can't find one. I even looked at the engine diagram and cooling diagram online and couldn't find any cooler but the power steering cooler. I guess I may have to lift it and crawl around underneath it I guess.

Transmission cooler is the top 6 to 8 inches on the AC condenser. If you look in through the grill opening you can see the difference in fin design. The transmission lines enter on the top right and the AC lines on the bottom left. As cool as my transmission runs it dose a pretty good job.

Thanks for pointing that out, I still don't know where the oil cooler is though

Re: Engine Oil Cooler 5.7 engine

When will full service manuals be available for the WK2? Jeep Engineers, if you monitor these threads, we owners want to know! Even a DVD-only version would be OK as a start.

Re: Engine Oil Cooler 5.7 engine

I thought the engine oil cooler was under/near where the oil filter spins on. I believe there is a stacked plate oil cooler in that location with coolant hoses attached.

I am pretty sure that is how it is on my 2012 Summit 5.7.

That is exactly what the oil cooler is.. its a stacked silver square cooler about the size of a small lunchbox.

Yes that's what I linked too...... but I'm very sure your 2012 5.7L Summit, my 2012 5.7L Summit, and all the other 2012 Summit's don't have one. From the factory anyway...............
