I have a question for those who have the 3.6L and added the magnaflo catback exhaust:
how has it been since break in?
Any pros or cons?
How is the drone if any?
Seen any improvements acceleration wise?
Anyone just bought the resonators, muffler and x-pipe instead of the whole catback system?

I just purchased a maximum steel 2014 overland with the v6, im coming from an 09 Dodge ram with Hemi which had a magnaflo so im still getting used to less sound and performance but overall im really liking the jeep...especially at the gas pump. I have been doing a lot of reading and searching but any insight you could give would be very helpful.

First off, welcome.
2nd, excellent choice on the max steel. Idk, but to me that color just pops.

anywho needless to say i think i'm in the same boat as you as far as wanting to know feedback. I for one am still looking at all options available for the hemi. It's still very quite compared to the previous V8 I've owned. I even had a few V6's that i went loud with the exhaust(MRT v1).

So i would also like to know.

Thanks....I am loving the color so far. I really liked the magnaflo i had on my ram with the 5.7 hemi, had a great rumble to it. Im just not sure its worth doing on the 3.6. I would like it to have a little more acceleration from a stop and just a bit more sound. I was hoping for a few more responses...guess i will keep researching and hope someone who has done it chimes in. Congrats on your new Jeep as well.

I did it on my '12 GC with 3.6 Pentastar. 1.5yrs and 45,xxx kms it still rumbles as it did after it broke in. Took about a week to break in. It doesn't sound like no v8 but Its deep. Search my posts and you'll find links to my youtube videos

If you have a 2014 3.6l my personal opinion would be to find a quality muffler shop and let them duplicate the X pipe and swap the large suit case muffler two smaller ones.

The 16929 kit is a bigger performance improvement when coming from the 3.6 so single exhaust.

At one point I had a 16929 installed on my 2012 3.6 and I did feel a difference. But just slightly more than the OEM dual system. I feel the OEM dual set up on a 3.6 is a good balance of flow and quiet.

So here is the rub:

For sound change the rear resonators

For performance change the front suitcase muffler. (cut the flanges off and weld them onto two 2.5" straight through magnaflows)

Greetings,

Did you find a performance improvement in the middle power range area and how loud is it?

Also did you ever get the chance to the CAI yet?

Best for now.:)
