Thanks for all the helpful advice! I'll stick to the spark plugs and air filter first and see how things measure up.

Make sure you see the conditions of the plugs and air filter. If it looks really dirty ask the opinion of the mechanic not the service advisor if you need to clean the throttle body. Like everybody else has said, just throw in a bottle of injector cleaner once a year or every 15k. Most gas brands do have some sort of cleaning agent already in their product. The aftermarket is usually a more concentrated amount.

Also depending the area you are in, the winter blend gas has been leaving more deposits over these last few years. Then it might be worth doing. In my area, I usually do it between 2-3 years.

Yes, change plugs first as it's proper maintenance, regardless of the mileage issues being seen.
