Fuel Lean Code and Engine light

Late last night I was exiting the Turnpike and slowed down to go through using EZ-pass. After coasting through the toll booth I attempted to accelerate and for the first time I got some transmission shudder and the car proceeded to decelerate. I was able to recover but the check engine light came on. Driving on a State road last night after the turnpike, the transmission shuddered again between 2nd and 6th gear. I took the car over to the dealer this morning and it happened again and the check engine light came on again. It has been sitting at the dealer all day, the check engine light does not come on but they saw an error code called "Fuel Lean" has anyone had this problem or know what the error code means.

Just an FYI: I do not get the transmission shudder in sport mode using the paddle shifters only in overdrive.

I have seen some other posts but they were all for 2011 and 2012 Grand Cherokees. I have a 2014 with a Hemi and and the 8 speed transmission.

Any information would be helpful

Thanks in advance

Re: Fuel Lean Code and Engine light

So I just got an update from the dealer, BOTH fuel pumps went bad and need to be replaced. I had no idea that the 2014 JGC had 2 fuel pimps. BOTH fuel pumps are on back-order from Mopar with no ETA. The good news is that whenever they come on or if the dealer can find them at another dealer then it is covered under my extended warranty. The car rental is also covered by the extended warranty.

First time I have ever bought an extended warranty when I purchased a car and it looks like it paid off. Score one for the little guy?
