Re: GC '98 with 5.2 V8 vs '11 with V6

Ahh the 3.5 is rated at 250 Hp and 250 TQ, not 300 HP. The 3.6 in the Challenger for 2011 will have 305 HP and 268 Tq.

One also needs to consider the area under the curves, a nice high and flat TQ curve in a heavy vehichle is best.

Re: GC '98 with 5.2 V8 vs '11 with V6

I had a 96 5.2, 98 5.9

When I drove the V6 it was what I expected, nice ride but not a Hemi, 5.2 or 5.9. If you are not interested in the power the V6 is nice.

Just leave your ego at home and forget you only have 6 cylinders and it should feel just the same.

This is a SUV/truck. Forget horsepower, look at the torque figures from old V8's/new v8's and a V6. I had a 2000 model with the 4.7 and 295lbs/feet of torque and it felt great, although the Jeep only had 235hp.

TQ is what you will feel when you drive the WK2.

+1 it is all about the torque. Torque is what gets you moving horsepower comes into play more for passing power.
